Abductor Adductor Machine Useless?

Just wondering why I never see anyone using that machine in terms of powerlifters of bodybuilders?

That machine has a lot of uses for me... I workout at the Y and there is an old lady there who's balls I like to bust... she started it, she talks to me all the time and started calling me popeye, she's always correcting everyone's form... so one day, she was training a young girl and had her on that... so I went up to her and told her that my coach wanted me to do weightlifting and powerlifting movements... the problem is that I don't know what they are... so then I said "is that one that she's doing called the power-snatch by any chance?"

I rarely visit this forum. And could not be further away from being a powerlifter
(or a body builder for that matter, having never stepped on stage) but his post
caught my attention.

In my experience the abductor machine performed just prior to doing squats
helps me, makes squatting ‘easier,’ more comfortable.

I have also found that doing calf raises, standing or seated (seated is better)
just prior to doing squats has the same effect . . . makes squatting more
comfortable, therefor am able to do more reps with the pansy ass weight I do
use.

Just a couple of interesting observations I have made. Maybe it will help
the big guys in some way, shape or form. Give it a try and report back
if you try this please. Would love to know if this is reproducible, if others
will experience the same thing.

you really prefer machines?
for adductors there is not really another movement
that isolates...

its like anything else....some people have adductors that just
grow with everything else...

some people need to isolate that muscle....ever look at a BB
and something about the legs just doesn't look right..??? or complete...???

if you break down the muscles you are actually looking at,
you can pin point the muscle that is weak.....isolation is the only
way to TRY to fix it.
