ACCUTANE QUESTION

I am sick and tired of the constant struggle against zits! It looks downright silly on a 36 year old man, so I have decided to give up the antibiotics (that no longer seem effective), and going to give accutane (via a board sponsor) a try.

QUESTIONS:
1. What would the recommended dose be for a 200 lb male?

2. Take it for how long?

3. Can I continue to take the antibiotics until the accutane starts working?

4. Is it too much for my body to take it while "on" a moderate cycle?

I forget the dosage.
I bought mine from Chemone.

He appears out now, but what ever was on the bottle ... I took that once a day.

I was covered completely on my back prior, so bad that I was oozing thru my shirts ... and had to address the issue.

The bottle should last about 2 months.

I went on ... and in 2 weeks they started to dry up.

What is does is perm. dry out your sebaceous glands (oil glands) so you will not get them anymore. It is not 100% ... and some people go on for a cycle of it ... and then come back on for another cycle in 6 months. It has some liver toxification issues ... but so does diet soda for that matter.

It worked for me ... and I had it bad ... my old lady each nite used to pop them for me and clean my back ... what a mess.

1- i was about 190 when i was on it and i was prescribed 120mg/day. this was in the 5th of 6 months on it though. i think she started me out at 40mg/day to see how i reacted to it.

2- the common length of time is 5 months.

3- i dont know the answer to this question, but they work by different pathways so it seems like it would be fine.

4- i started my second cycle about halfway through accutane treatment. every months i had to get blood tests done and they never came back with anything to cause a concern...thats why she let me go a 6th month.


just so you know, it might be better to go through a dermatologist to get this...from what i hear, if the raw powder is exposed to air it ruins the actual isotretinoin molecule. so unless where you are getting it from sells it in gel caps, it will be weaker than normal or worse.

It is in liquid form from chemone.

I went on a tanning and accutane cycle, and you could see a difference in 2-3 weeks. They started to clear up and dry up.

The UV will kill any infections and help dry out the skin.

Accutane dries up the oil galnds, perm ... so once you have killed the glands ... they will not secret oil anymore. That is why you need to take accutane for 2 or more months.

I had it so bad on my shoulders, that you still see scars from it ... but they are clearing up ...

It drive me nuts ... more than my old lady drives me nuts.

it starts working after 1 week. I have used it for only 3 weeks and seen great result, but harsh sides, cracking lips+skin... real bad

If you have bad acne 40-80 mg's ed for 1 month then 40 mg 2 times a week should be sufficient to prevent further outbreaks. If it is only cycle related just take 40 mg's 2 times per week and that should be enough to prevent acne.
