Damn, UG is down... I know this board is not typically an off topic one, but I just gotta tell someone about all this shit...

I live in SW Florida and this place looks like a phucking war zone... I have a 60 foot tree on top of my house and my fiance's car...

This is all a little crazy... National Guard in the streets, power lines down all over, pieces of homes everywhere...

My fiance's father lives in on an island here called Pine Island... The damn place is leveled. He lost his roof and the whole back of his house, I was out there this morning bringing supplies...

The trailer parks here are no more... Emergency crews ran out of body bags for the dead yesterday...

This is most definitely the most tragic and scary event I have ever experience...

Bro I know how you must be feeling. I grew up in Boca Grande as a kid and my grandparents still live in Venice Florida and charley narrowly missed them. They have told me that the devestation from that category 4 hurricane was unbelivable. I hope everything goes well for you bro. From what I understand President Bush has declared Charlotte, lee, and those other counties down there a disaster area so they do get federal relief funding. I wish you the best bro. I guess its one of the prices you pay for living in an area as nice as that one.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the care and concern...

It's gonna take a while, but things will get back to normal...

Florida Power and Light is working with electrical subcontractors from all over FL and power is being restored a lot faster than was anticipated...

President Bush was here yesterday with his brother Jeb and yes, they declared it a disaster. I am really thankful of all the immediate aid that was sent from the state and federal government. We all do a lot of bitching about the fed, but they've really come through for a lot of people here.
