funny how some things trigger memories- i was just sitting here and i thought of the old anabolex way back in the day.

i was just curious, since alot of us on here seem to have been working out for a long time, if anyone here used to post on the old anabolex- the board itself was formatted unlike the boards we see today. someone would make a post, and then below that post would be replies. i believe the background screen was yellow in colour. probably the simplest of formatted boards ever. this has to be way back when raupp owned it.

this has to be, jeez, at least 8 years ago- maybe longer.

it was the first board i ever read.

i can remember some of the more colourful posters- guys like raptor, smashing machine (i believe he had only one arm), zilla (i think for some reason there was scandal around him after a while- can't remember quite why now).

just wondering how many of you on here remember those days, if any of you used to post there too.

god i'm old.

:)

one of my first boards also.
there was a first site called anabolix that brian owned with a friend but they split up and brian started anabolex. he got arrested for selling juice and special k. after the site domain expired, the curent owner of anabolex bought the domain and has it still.
i miss the old cold fusion boards. to tell you the truth, once these boards went away from cold fusion, a lot of guys stopped posting.
it had its drawbacks. people could easiley impersonate you. you had to wait till your posts were approved. on renegade it took longer than bolex because micro was online 24/7 back then.
i lurk over anabolex. its really dead over there. no familar names.

i miss the old days.

ahh the yellow board. I was a lurker in those days but it does bring back memories. flex, brigkris23, zilla, and even back in 2000-2001 when bigjimbo posted there. Some really colorful guys back in the day. The online community was a bit smaller then. Was a bit nicer than it is today if you ask me!

leighton, flex, sinn fein, grape ape, SBC, borleone, hulklster, testy...etc Good guys. and the boys on renegade too.

no know ever says "remember snooze?" i must suck.

Grape Ape is around. And SBC is making a public comeback in the next few weeks.

I remember the old 'Anabolex' very well. That board and ''Anabolic Extreme'' were outstanding in those days.

Yes, Anabolex and Elitefitness were both sister boards. Raupp started Anabolix along with William Llewellyn, then later started Anabolex. Ef at that time helped Raupp and the Anabolex site by promoting his board on theirs. Raupp and Paul were friends at that time. Raupp, a young but bright kid at the time, unfortunately went down some bad paths. I always liked conversing with him, but I was young too at that time. Anabolix was created in January of 1997, and Anabolex not long after that.

Here is a link to the original anabolix site:

Here is old EF in December 1996. It was laready at least a year old by that time:

Anabolex: Will not fully come up, but you can click on some of the empty boxes.

I can't get Renegade to pop up for some reason.

As a note, a lot of the original members that started out on EF switched/transfered over to Anabolex when it opened as well, so I get the boards mixed up on particular posts.

The coolest board was EliteFitnessSelect, which has Duchaine and everybody on it....Oliver Starr, Animal, Pat Arnold, Kneller, Nadler, Dante, Danimal, Robertt Price, Raupp, George Spellwin and Andrew Bunner, etc.....

Those were great to look at. I wish the community was still like that. Small and tight not exploded with 1 million different boards like there is today. Seemed better back then when the net was in its beginning stages!

lol how did my post get deleted while chatting it up about sbc with big a? Big A read it and didnt delete it but the big bapper did. c'mon bro..chantily lace..im a big fan::tar-wars

I remember

I remember the old Bolex, when Flex was the main moderator, I was one of the youngest posters there back in the day when I was 16. Those guys jumped on me for thinking about or even being on the board but I still stayed there. It was good times

The first boards I ever registered on were Anabolex and Anabolic Extreme ( i think) with Jason Mueller. I remember names like Raven and Pig Vomit I think. God it's been a long time

LIST ME !! lol

sure was. adam ramsey, the aids girl milligirl, excellent boys massive scam, victorian guys stories, that evil dave flash video of brittany spears getting a dirty sanchez, list me threads, only one forum instead of 30 sub forums, that eagle saleman from tokkyo selling that stuff dirt cheap, not worrying what to say..etc
but you know, these days arent too bad either. remember the low doses a lot of gear was? only could get nasty cid or nile amps domestically for awhile?
might be a day we are saying these are the good old days.

Leighton, Piper (IP domestic guy) was crazy, Insomniac/oil based was the first huge internet domestic source.
Flex was the best, always gave great advice.

Didn't know grape was around. I see SBC pop up once in awhile not lately though. Bump both of them.

OMG I am old.
SBC was gold, still around but keeping lower profile.
Great ppl from the age.
K the retirement community I now live in is having their daily shuffleboard game I gotta run. OK, I gotta limp...

ALMOST FORGOT!

who was that guy from Panama that used to selectively scam?
He had bottles of Brovel gear for like $20 but you'd order and pray!
He'd rip ppl off and then claim reverse scamming!
Funny as I type this that guys like IP, RBB and Alex have stood the test of time...they were there in old bolex too...

It sure was loose back then. I knew Leighton very kool guy. Had easy access for Mex gear. I also was in the loop together with Piper when he was legit back in the day. Of course used a different handle. It was a fun time growing with the board to keep us connected in one way or another.
