Yes I have a bi-ventricular pacemaker on my left side. I think when you take a picture in a mirror everything is reversed somehow.
Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly I am looking at an amatuer local level show not anything major. I don't have potential to be as big as muscle doc but I do have potential. I'll probably enter as a welter weight and as an over 40 master. I need to put on more muscle for another year then diet down. My potential is far better then the obese people who post on here who want to compete. I already have the basic shape going for me just need to put more of that on.
I have a national level competitive bodybuilder who is willing to work with me for free because he saw how I train and my desire and dedication to this.
I hope to be role model for others with health issues that they too can hit the gym and have a fit body.
And for those wondering I do everything safe. I'm not doing anything risky for my health as far as drugs and super crazy training. The only thing I use now is a multi vitamin, protein powder and glutamine.

I think most people have at least some capability of competing at a local level if they try hard enough. Will they win? NO. Will they look like they belong? Of course.
Bust your ass. Do a show. If you work as hard as you can and hire somebody on here to do your training/diet... you should be proud of the outcome.
what made you decide to want to do this at this point in your life?
i only ask cuz most guys get the bodybuiliding bug when they are young then by the time they are your age they are ready to be healthy and let it go. so just curious what makes you want to compete?
as for your potential, it will get better with time if you do things right. i am glad you are well and healthy. don't let this sport take that away from you.
i will also add, that if you got in contest shape right now you would NOT be very happy. you still have a bit of bodyfat and if it was gone i think you would wish you had put on more muscle before you step on stage and one year might not be enough. i trained for YEARS before i got up on stage. but thats just me...

You look good VMan! All I can say is your on the right track to becoming a stronger and healthier person. And in your quest I hope you take the leap of competing for your benefit and to help inspire others. Don't over set your sights to the impossible but definitely set some big goals and I look forward to seeing where that takes you. Good luck and congrats on your progress so far.
I'm a 46 year old 210 pound former college wrestler who competes in triathlons all over the country. How do I do against 140 pound former runners and swimmers? No contest, I get completely smoked. But I am competing and it's lots of fun. I'm still doing my best and "competing" - You can too.
The only loser is the person who doesn't step up because they are afraid they may not do well. One of the things I like about triathlons is the winner often waits at the finish line and cheers those who finish behind him/her. With the Ironman Hawaii, the winner can be cheering at the finish line for 7 hours. You give it your best, you are a competitor, you are a winner.
A great big smiling FU to anyone who says you do not belong.
But JS's concern that you must not adopt an unhealthy lifestyle to compete is some thing you need to follow.
V-man, at close to 50 I am competing. Will I win? Maybe, maybe not. That isn't as important to me as being in great shape at this age. I will make a suggestion, train for a couple more years and put on some more size. Get real lean at 50 and compete in that class. I can personally tell you that guys in the 40 class are big and impressive. Some top pros are that age. What ever you do, have fun!
Great work so far.. i think if you hire a trainer on this site and give it your all you can be the best u can be..
who knows who will be entering the show you plan to compete in... you may come in first that day.... or even last... but atleast u had fun and got on stage right?? Have fun either way.. and best of luck to u.
