Anyone ever do this during their meals?

Sometimes I find myself getting tired of eating 50 grams of protein from one source alone in a meal and I will have sometihing like 10 or so grams from tilapia, 10 or so grams from grilled chicken, some sliced turkey and maybe 10 ounces of low fat milk to make the 40 to 50 gram protein mark, it seems like this would be good for getting different amino acid profiles during a meal. I just get sick of eating 6 to 8 ounces of one protein source at one sitting sometimes.

Not a bad idea. I have a damn hard time breaking 350 grams of protein a day let alone the 440 that would be 2 grams per pound of bodyweight.

Another option is to split up your 50grams between solid food and a 1/2 serving or so of a protein drink.

Anyone ever have the tuna omelet with can of tuna fryed together with the 4 eggs?
If so and u have this as a meal, is your body able to digest all that and a 20 gram shake of whey isolate to total close to 70 grams of protein?
i thought 50 was the max, but i read on here something about having protein shakes with all your meals as a protocol to get your intake up.

Of course! Just like not hitting always the same exercises when you train avoids getting bored, switching from a particular food to another or even mixing them in the same meal can make the diet more "acceptable".

Personally I like mixing tuna, eggs and small pieces of chicken breasts in a big bowl... good against monotony. :)

Couldnt be chewed with the faffing about with different sources in one sitting. I add a splash of cider vinegar over my turkey and veg meals and absolutely love them....seems to make all the difference to me.

Same with my turkey, tomato and spinach meals. Don't know what it is but it doesnt half help them go down....

low fat yogurt with vanilla casein and cinnamon
chickena and low fat cottage cheese in a bun with some green peppers and onions
omelet with a beef patty and cheese
egg whites, whey protein, oats and honey mixed in a bowl
a very small beef burger and a turkey sandwich

i do this a lot in the offseason... no point in delibiretly making yourself suffer because "that's what all the cool bodybuilders are doing" :D

Are there any digestion issues to be concerned with when combining multiple protein sources? Such as certain enzymes to digest one source that are not able to digest others?

Yeah I do it a lot with out knowing.. like yesterday I had 6 egg whites and chicken. I also do it when I still have the hunger feeling after a shake. Again yesterday, had a shake then chicken again, until I felt I curved the hunger. I seem to this a lot.

That's an interesting question VT.. I hope someone can answer it. I take a papaya enzyme throughout the day. I freaking love it, chewables too so they taste pretty damn good.

In my shakes I always do LBA's with my 100% Whey and skilm milk ...3 or 4 different proteins...

then for meals I'll have turkey and ground beef sometimes all mixed up and make it with some Taco seasonings, and some egg whites all mixed up togther with some rice...and them some salsa on top...MMMMMM soooo goood

I do it all the time...especially mixing eggs and chicken or tuna...but i remember massive g writing about how its not ideal...i will find the link to his post later...it was included in his "Why to eat protein first" article.

maybe he can chime in...

mixing and matching is perfectly fine...as long as your getting your protein in there somehow, you will be just fine. Whenever I eat at Monogolian BBQ, I usually mixed chicken, beef, shrimp, and tilipia all into one bowl, so much more fun doing it that way and I am getting a ton of protein...love that place!

sure, whatever it takes to get the amount of protein you need.

leftover steak, chicken breasts and frozen shrimp whooped up with some scrambled egg whites, and syntrax nectar lemonade to drink with it :)

I even do it with shakes, most of my shakes are a scoop of milk isolate, whey concentrate, 8oz of hood calorie countdown skim milk (8g protein, 0 fat, 3g carbs for 45 cal) and 8oz pasteurized egg whites. I'll likely order dante's beef isolate powder next time I am ready for protein, to add that in the mix.
