I cant shake this shit. It will let up a tad and then come back. I'm tired of antibiotics and the OTC bs. Feels like a dull burn in my taint constantly and a constant urge to piss. And when I say I need to piss, I need to piss NOW. Im early 50's and been dealing with it for ten years or so off and on. It's not debilitating but it's constantly reminding me it's there. Anyone else suffer from this or have any tips

Might be wrong but I think daily cialis helps your prostate.

No not me, but just curious if your Dr's have checked your hormones, like your testosterone to estrogen reatio and your dht level, and even your igf1, many of the so-called experts used to think that estrogen may actually be responsible for prostate enlargement/cancer.

Diagnosed years ago with chronic prostatitis . Not sure what triggers it from time to time . Doc says it’s tough to treat and figure out , especially when it’s non bacterial . All bloods came back good recently . Slightly elevated PsA but prostatitis causes that apparently . The best way I can describe it to you guys who haven’t had it is a dull burn in your taint. Also the urgent pissing

I know what you mean. I have had it on and off for over 25 years. Had every test known to man. And every possible antibiotic.

For me, avoiding anything spicy and acidic has been the most helpful. (Antibiotics have become less effective over time.) And sweets. It appears, at least for me (and others) that these substances effect my bladder, and by association, the prostate.

No more coffee, hot spicy seasoning and concentrated sugar products.

Talk to your urologist (you should be seeing one) about this. What you are experiencing may have more to do with your bladder than your prostate which is why I asked the question I asked.

Let me know your thoughts.

What have you been using in the last 3 months?

As others have said low dose cialis/tadalafil is very effective for prostate issues at 2.5-5 mg daily.

Note that testosterone at optimal doses can actually HELP with prostate symptoms.

"TRT has been shown to effectively relieve the symptoms of TDS as well as LUTS by several studies."

LUTS = Lower urinary tract symptoms

Just TRT at 200 per week ( split into 100 2x a week ). I’ll have to look into the cialis

I sincerely doubt that Cialis is going to make a difference (understand it’s mechanism, didn’t for me) but you have nothing to lose and something to gain, think BPH.

200 mg is actually pretty high to be "true TRT" for most guys. So your Free T and E2 are likely high at some point in the week.

Remember, a healthy young male will see Testosterone of something like 400-800 ng/dL which fluctuates from morning to evening. on 200 mg, people are often hitting supraphysiological levels of T/DHT/E2 which can lead to weird sides, prostate symptoms being one possible symptom.

Average endogenous T daily production is something like 4-9 mg daily. 200 mg TRT is providing about 20 mg testosterone PER DAY and further, it builds up unlike our own testosterone thanks to the ester effect.

I got diagnosed with prostatitis about a year ago. At the advice of a friend I got my estrogen checked and it was high, so I got on an AI to get that in check. I also went to see a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic floor therapy. She gave me a bunch of stretches to do to stretch my PF and along with the AI, low and behold the issue went away. It’s worth a shot, and it beats the hell out of taking a round of antibiotics 2-3 times a year to put a bandaid on the problem.

This is helpful advice. Thanks!

BPH is pissing me off (pun intended)... At 57, Im started to feel it more...

Really long story short. Had a PSA score of 21, did antibiotics, went down to 10. I had a 19 core transperineal prostate biopsy, all cores negative. Before the biopsy, I was given a shot of Rocephin. 12 weeks later my PSA was 4. 12 weeks after that a 2.5. My MD attributed it to prostatitis. I think the shot of Rocephin did something positive. BPH and prostatitis symptoms can mirror each other. I now take 4mgs of Cardura daily and 90% of my prostate issues are gone. PSA stays between 2.5 and 3. Caffeine, chili, any kind of decongestant, and too much self-pleasure/sex inflames my prostate (I am aware that some professionals actually think the more you do the better), not for me. Cialis and Viagra both help my BPH symptoms too. For me, high DHT levels beat the crap out of my prostate too, which I think in part was a main cause of the 21 score. I kept this short...LOL...but this is rarely ONE thing. It is multicausal for many.

Yep, sometimes prostatitis is just a bacterial infection. The bacteria causes inflammation just like a regulad infection. Abx clears it right up.

And some bacteria, it is theorized, is imbedded deep within the prostate gland and unable to be ‘expressed’ and cultured, hence the broad spectrum abx. So I guess in theory, it might all be bacterial and not so much pelvic floor syndrome.

I have had it for over 20 years. Tried everything in the world. Good days and bad days. On or off AAS. Never had an issue with PSA ever. I am used to it now. Doesn’t really seem that bad since I have forgotten what normal was like. I am going to get it removed when I am 60. Insurance won't cover it. But that's how fed up with it I am .

Sorry to read this 🙁

I’m kinda like you minus the elective surgery thought.

I must be intolerable to consider that at such an age. I hope, if and when it occurs, you will fond the relief you deserve.

Hi Massive G...glad to see you posting again.
Any changes when prostate removed? Pee normally? Pee better?
Able to perform sexually with the prostate gone?
