Anyone suffer from prostatitis?

OP- I have a friend that is able to keep his at bay using Oregano Oil. It need to be standardized to a high Carvacrol content though. Like a 30% extract.

Might be worth a try.

In vitro, carvacrol has antimicrobial activity against 25 different phytopathogenic bacteria and strains including:[20] Cladosporium herbarum,[20] Penicillium glabrum,[20] Pseudomonas syringae,[21] and fungi such as Fusarium verticillioides/F. moniliforme, Rhizoctonia solani/R. solani, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, and Phytophthora capsici.[20]

I had prostatitis back in the early 2000s that made me almost suicidal. It lasted for well over a couple of years even after trying everything known to man. I never could pinpoint the one thing that made it clear up, other than an act of god.

Hi Massive G...glad to see you posting again.
Any changes when prostate removed? Pee normally? Pee better?
Able to perform sexually with the prostate gone?

MS
One of my good friends I graduated with in school was a dentist he had prostate cancer at 40 and had it removed. Got sperm frozen before removal. He said sex was about the same that you have dry orgasms. I imagine the terrible symptoms I have when it flares up will go away when removed. I am a little over 50 and no more superman for me so at 60 probably will care even less about it. And it will save me from possible cancer later in life. Sorry to be so dramatic but it's a huge trigger point for me.

I hear you. I spent probably a few years worth of research doctors medications supplements etc all and nothing ever worked.
I am anabolics probably didn't help but it is what it is. You get really depressed because as bodybuilders we are used to fixing things with supplements and meds.
It ended more relationships than I want to say. But as you stated it can push you the edge! Sorry I can't help more but it is what it is.

I've had a few flare ups since my early 20s most last a few weeks but at 39 now it flared up about 3 months ago bad and won't go away. Dr's haven't been much help besides flomax and cialis

I could be your bladder masquerading as your prostate.

Think diet.

I'm 55 now and have had BPH for maybe 10 years. I take a low dose of Flomax to keep peeing normal but still have an occasional flare up when it's a struggle to piss. No sexual problems at all except occasional painful orgasms. The worst part for me is actually my constantly changing PSA numbers, Dad had prostate cancer so that's a constant concern but my urologist says there's no correlation between BPH and prostate cancer. I've tracked my testosterone levels in comparison to PSA for there past 7 years and there's no correlation for me at least.

Really long story short. Had a PSA score of 21, did antibiotics, went down to 10. I had a 19 core transperineal prostate biopsy, all cores negative. Before the biopsy, I was given a shot of Rocephin. 12 weeks later my PSA was 4. 12 weeks after that a 2.5. My MD attributed it to prostatitis. I think the shot of Rocephin did something positive. BPH and prostatitis symptoms can mirror each other. I now take 4mgs of Cardura daily and 90% of my prostate issues are gone. PSA stays between 2.5 and 3. Caffeine, chili, any kind of decongestant, and too much self-pleasure/sex inflames my prostate (I am aware that some professionals actually think the more you do the better), not for me. Cialis and Viagra both help my BPH symptoms too. For me, high DHT levels beat the crap out of my prostate too, which I think in part was a main cause of the 21 score. I kept this short...LOL...but this is rarely ONE thing. It is multicausal for many.
Do you have high blood pressure also? I'm wondering about the Cardura, I've never seen a drug that is used for hypertension and BPH. I'm wondering if I should switch out my prescription Amlodipine for Cardura.

Everything you said is right on according to my experience. Except my numbers have been remarkably stable, always < 1.0, I am 68.

Yea, the ‘numbers’ name. What a drag. I lost me dad to prostate cancer so like you I am constantly watching them. (Had a PSA test yesterday.)

What I have learned, if your doctor has not mentioned this, is to wait 48hrs after sex to get a PSA test and do not get tested if you think you are currently having a bout of prostatitis. Wait a week or so after your symptoms disappear.

And talk to your doctor about your bladder. What you are feeling could be bladder related and food (think acidic) related. Just a thought.

I wish you well.

Look into stretching the pelvic floor muscles. If they're tight they can put pressure on the prostate. Simply squatting down on your feet for a few minutes can work. There are a few yoga movements that also work like lying on your back and pulling your knees towards your body. Might give some relief.

Chris Cormier does. He describe it as after he's done peeing he has the poo poo. This is why he will not do trt. If he would try finasteride, even 0.25 mgs daily works, he could do trt.

Mildly elevated. Cardura IMO isn't a "first choice" blood pressure medicine at least at the dosage I take it. It definitely works for my bladder though and makes my life much better, especially at night.

I am sorry to hear about your dad.

MD's will tell you to wait 48 or more after sex to get a PSA test. I can tell you from the 50 PSA tests or so I have probably had that your overall sexual activity matters to the equation for some people. If you are doing it 3 times a day, 48 hours isn't going to be enough. Not everyone has that issue, but I do, and I can lower my PSA test by not having sex for a week or more.

As a cautionary piece of advice, I found out that the PSA and free PSA weren't reliable tests for me given my transperineal grid biopsy. My urologist concluded as much. I still get tested just to see where I am and I've been pretty stable for a long time. But if my PSA shot up again, I don't think I would be nervous like I was previously. I'd ask for a shot of Rocephin and test a month later. If it didn't come down, I'd just do another biopsy. That's about the only thing that would give me peace of mind.

I'll end on this. I'm 56. If you're young and reading this, take care of prostate as much as you can. ECA stacks were terrible for mine, as were particular drugs. When I was faced with the thought of having mine removed, potentially not having bladder control, and no sex again, it got real quickly. You start looking at alternative therapies like proton therapy and second mortgage on the house to keep your prostate.
