Is it O.K. to do cardio on a couple of the offdays outlined in the program by Big A? Or is it better to do cardio on the workout days to maximize your recovery time?
Also, are there alternate exercises for the leg press and leg curl, my gym doesn't have either.
 
IMO I would assume everyone is trying to get bigger, so pre comp would be a different issue. With that said I have read some DC info on this subject and may agree. Dc I believe recommends doing cardio every day as it is to keep your appetite up. It will always have your body craving food. If body fat levels should be dropped it may just be an issue of diet and carb control.
 
I say it depends on your body type and how you "gain."

If you're and ecto - DON'T do any cardio, unless it's precontest.

If you're an endo - you won't do "too much" cardio and it can be done ED.

I'm a hardgainer and make my best gains if I don't do any cardio. But for overall health, I "try" and do cardio on my non-workout days.
 
Thanks Xcell and Tryn. I appreciate the info. I am trying to gain mass, but at the same time I need to maintain my cardi. I think I should at least need to have some cardio in there. I've been doing it on my off days. I'll just keep it that way. Thanks again.

Figure out what body type you are then follow what xcel stated.ecto-endo-meso or a combo.
 
I'm an ecto, i do cardio (a good session on the punch bag) when i'm not on a cycle, when I am on a cycle every calorie counts!

You are correct what you just stated except for one thing. never do cardio on leg days.
I'm a fan of DC training and use cardio everyday except leg days. I also take in over 5000 cal's a day and I'm 53 years old
