Last year I did a Bench Press competition which I took 2nd Overall This time I'm going for Gold! I'll Post Pics... I'm roughly 240lb last year I was 214... I'm confident but we'll have to wait and see the total outcome.. here was a post last year.... any Ideas or tips pre-contest before my lifts... warm ups.. I want to be totally amp... the only difference I did to my diet was add 100-200gms of carbs this week since I've been on a ketosis diet for the past 8 weeks or more and I feel maybe I need to carbload my muscle fill them of glyc and atp fuel so I push threw the weight... and ideas... ?????

Yea I try a practice lift this monday which is usually chest day.. I went light with Preloaded lift of 405 hit it twice... but I was assisted by a lift off and a spotter I don't even know if the spotter touch the bar....:confused:

we have one up here in my neck of the woods on JULY 12th or the following weekend...the people that put it on post the event 3 weeks before the event...umm I am sure some of us would like more than 3 weeks to plan for this.

WARM UP so you avoid injury...but don't get overly warm so you poop out ;) yes I know that fine line.

There was a monster probably 185lb he won the overall.. nice built... but pencil legs.... he pushing over 450lbs.... he got the overall... I hurt my back on the last lift... I was hoping.... he fail he last lift but.. the guy is a true champ!... I'll post pics... later

Fantastic job man! Can't beat first place! Especially with all the dieting you do.

Did I forget to mention I hurt my back... Its all good.. just ate a big a$$ Oven roasted chicken/ Whole wheat with Olive oil SUb... I think it hit the spot!.... I hate flat bench too.... I perfer Db.... I don't feel shit on bench... unless its Incline....::port-smi

I want to get stronger but I'm not a powerlifter... So I think strength only comes with age.... I feel I was alot stonger last year.... but I have more quality Mass this year.... I didn't even warm up... Big mistake!... In the offseason every one thought I was some Powerlifter/ strongman guy... Its kinda annoying.. then I have talk with a fake smile on face and say no! I'm a amatuer Bodybuilder.... :cool:

nice work, I switched over to powerlifting a few weeks ago but I'm not using it as an excuse to get fat and eat whatever, I still diet like I'm bodybuilding. I look so much better since I switched over. I feel better, look better, and I'm stronger. I have a push day, a pull day, a leg day, and an assistance muscle day where I come back and hit all my curls, tri pressdowns, lateral raises, pull ups, abs. I train 3-4x/wk max, and I do 30 min of jogging and hit the sauna or steam room for 15-20 min each time I go. I actually feel healthy for once, not just look it.

Well whatever your doin keep it up! 4 plates is awesome no matter who you are and what your age is ;) Ya its always fun dealing with people and having to smile and nod all the time... I know the feeling.

Your going to like training with Phil, I trained with him a couple years ago and it really helped me along.

Way to go, I plan on doing a contest next year. I switched to powerlifting last year and my strength is thru the roof, there is a diiferent way that powerlifters benchpress and it has to be learned and is uncomfortable at best, but it works. I go for a spped day for both upper body and lower body and a max effort for both each week and that seems to work for me. J.R.

Thanks.. Yea I want to incorporate some power lifting my work out.. and see If I can make some improvements on my lifts... nexy year....
