Well im looking to become a certified personal trainer. Im curious as to what the best CPT programs are out there that are highly recognized and most likely to be hired by gyms.

Nsca Cscs . Y? It actually requires a degree. Other most gyms accept Nasm which is garbage anyway

i hope this is not a career move but for some extra cash on the side.

anyways i would just ask some gyms in your area what they want to see from a personal trainer before you start taking on thousands of dollars of debt to be a trainer.

the most successful trainer at my gym, first he is a pipefitter which puts a roof over his head, but has no paper certs just a national level competitor.

I think more gyms recognize NASM but if u really serious want to learn NSCA both of them are serious organizations with test you actually have to pass

nasm will get you a job as far as having a cert but its the most expensive. i offer cert prep if interested

this is the route I think i'm going to take. My end goals are to eventually open a gym after being a personal trainer at a gym in my area for a decent amount of time.

Good goal man but look at those 2 both highly reputable I've done both plus couple others that have Been mentioned but was a complete joke most of them long ur check clears u pass u don't want that research those 2 I mentioned

Ace is recognized by most and not too terribly expensive. Not the cheapest either

Got mine through ACSM most recognized as far as I know and my local golds was going to pay me more than the other guys because it is a tough one to get.

It's really sad that some gyms will hire anybody with any certificate from anywhere as a personal trainer. A lot of those guys don't know jack shit.

As far as if this is a career move or not...it could be. Some guys in LA make hundreds an hour. In Austin a G4 trainer at Gold's gets paid $85/hour (of course Gold's takes a good bit of it away but he can easily take his customers with himself and quit).

You need to understand the business side before you even think about running your own facility. You will need more than just a few years of experience.

nasm offers associate trainer ,which gives you gym experience with a certified personal trainer, package is 2000$ but worth it to me

don't do it dude.

unless it's a small crossfit-type studio, you're gonna lose money.

opening a gym is a bigger pain in the ass than you think it's gonna be... billing, memberships, training sales, equipment lease/buy, power bills, gas bills (heating), rent, insurance, taxes.

very, very hard to turn a profit... even if you're doing most the work yourself.
