I felt that I needed to point this out because I see alot of guys starting up bodybuilding and they are doing the exact same thing I did when I first walked in the gym in 2002.

I walked in and saw the owner who was a big power lifting type of guy fat bald and strong, yeah he could bench 6 plates on each side no problem, but he looked too fat, anyway the first thing he did was tell me that I need to take gear and he put me on a crazy first time cycle which included 4 anapolons a day! He also wrote me a crazy diet and said I should KFC as much as possible and I must say within 1 year I went from 75 kgs to 115 kgs.

I thought I was getting big, it wasnt until when I started to try for a competion that I realized I was mostly fat and water, nobody could get so big in such a short space of time and now I see most youngsters getting fat in the gym and eating and taking gear like there is no tomorow, not realizing that some gear can make you hold on to serious fat if not kept on a clean diet.(and they are actually thinking that they are looking good)

After 5 years now Im 88 kg and looking to compete in april and 78kg and one thing I sure learned was that rome wasnt built in a day and if you think your bodybuilder go on stage if you got the balls to diet.

I take my hat off to all the bros who compete no matter what size, anybody can looked pumped up in a t shirt, its when you take it off and your on stage that counts.

Sorry for boring some of you but I felt that I had to write this down.

P.S it makes me angry how many people for the sake of money that want to put young men on cycles without even having building a foundation first.

I agree completely but I think most newbies have a hard time getting their hands on gear (at least I did) which is all for the better because it gave me plenty of time to master the fundamentals of diet and nutrition not to mention years of research before I even considered steroids. IMO the biggest mistake of all beginners is a lack of general knowledge. If people read more they'd realize the mistakes of overtraining, shitty diet, lack of rest, excessive dosages, and the list goes on and on.

Hey wolf, this is a good point you make. Too many and I mean way too many young guns start off on the path you have described. I own a gym and have done for over ten years. I think that Mr. 6 plates aside needs his nuts cut. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes me cringe. These guys are the culprets who give the entire gym/BB industry a bad rep. This guy has no biz working with people with that attitude. I preach responsibility towards weights, training and yes gear. I simply give the people that want to know real information and fact so they can go and make up their own minds. I will actually talk most young men out of doing a cycle straight up. I usually recommend that they train hard for a year or two then have a look at where they want to be. When you are new to weight training your body will respond better than some one who has been training for years. You will make impressive gains w/out juice. Proper training and nutrition will do this. You are lucky you caught on. I wonder how many youngsters this guy has fucked up over the years? Your advice is well founded and very appropriate.

I guess it really depends on where from in terms of getting gear easily, I mean I started out in a ghetto part of London in a rundown gym and the owner was making a killing out of selling gear, he was a friend of a friend so the trust was mutual from start. He was like a hustler, now Im out in Turkey and I can get what I want from the pharmacy and dirt cheap too but to be honest I only use gear now when Im dieting so I can hold on to any lean tissue I got. Its been a long learning process for me and Im quite exited about competing for the first time.

Your spot on with the lack of knowledge and shitty diet ect.

Thanks Oldfella, and Im gratefull for guys like King Kamili comming to this board and also other guys like Phil ect telling them like it is. I would like try and inform as much youngsters as possible, I feel somewhat responsible to explain.
