dorian yates training was one all out set, 3 or 4 exercises per bodypart....
this comes down to extracting the most from every single rep of your workset...
he executed each rep with text book perfect form... untill he reached failure and then ... went for beyond failure using techiques like forced reps, rest pause and only negatives....untill he reached total muscle fatique.
i asked him about him his periodization protocol... he said he wud train high intensity for 5 to 6 weeks and then 2 to 3 weeks with 90 percent intensity(sub failure), where he mentioned he cud have been better of if he trained with 60 percent intensity during those 2 to 3 weeks....
his philosophy was
ensure moderate amount of muscle damage through high intensity training and then go for full throttle recovery ( rest , high protien + carbs, etc)
