Blood pressure machine at Wal-mart

Have you guys ever stopped and tried to fit your arm in

mine fits but barely. pressure always reads high. think its designed for 13 - 15 inch arms or somewhere in that neighborhood!

Yeah, I tried fitting my arm into one of those BP cuffs at Wal-Mart....that shit was not happenin'. After a solid minute trying to force my arm in the cuff the machine said malfunction or error and that it could not read it.

What a coincidence raj, I had never tried that before but last week just sat down and tried to put my arm in that thing and was like WTF, how do those old fat people use this thing !

I used to use the one at shoppers drugmart they have a BP machien but now it wont work.
not well and i cant rially fit my arm it but w/e

I *might* be able to fit some other part of my anatomy in there, but I am sure I'll get hauled off by the cops.

a great question bro. in fact most BP "cuffs" are not suppose to be used if your arms are larger than 13''.. always ask your doc "nurse" if they are using the correct one!! after i learned this, i see what they get, then tell them to use the proper cuff and recheck it.... its off 15-20 points every time ....try it u will see. very common mistake

Haven't tried the one at Walmart, but tried one that's prob. of similar size at a Vons or somewhere...Had to jam my arm through.

I know yours didn't fit...Sheesh, I've seen your forearms

You can buy a cuff type blood pressure tester for $9.95 at Wall Mart. I did and it works perfectly.

Yea... I was diagnosed moderate high BP and never knew about the different cuffs until I went to a specialist to get some work done. My new nurse mentioned this and I stopped taking the BP meds and my pressure has been spot on ever since. You would think that a professional should know these things.

yes you would think, but it's prolly just habit cuz they do it several x ed. how often do they see an 18" or 21" arm? point is guys... if your B.P. is a bit high... make sure you using a cuff designed to fit your massive arm. (most people's thigh) you may be surprised

the nurses at my doctor's office know which one I need,I've already had that dicussion with them.
The wal-mart machine is designed for a 13" arm so trying to shove a 13" forearm in it makes people stare.lol
