I was checking out some links on bodybuilding.com about BMR calculators and i'm not sure i'm doing this right or if these are accurate at all.

here is the link i was using

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calrmr.htm

it calculates that for a 23 year old male, 68 inches tall, weighing 210, at 11% bodyfat.

needs on average 2236 calories to maintain their current weight. Does this sound correct??

I guess alot of these calcluators calculate RMR but the site says RMR is very close to BMR

That is BMR meaning if you did nothing but sit in bed all day, that is what you would need.

You'll need to adjust your kcal up depending on your activity level.

are there formulas that factor in activity?

I know how many calories i eat roughly and how much i need

But what if you are doing this for someone else?
i just did a search on here at these number seem to stand for ur caloric needs if u just vegged in front of a TV without exercise.

so if thats the case, what good do these numbers do? or how do u factor in activity?

It really depends how active you are. However, the most common factor uses 1.3 - 1.5 times Resting Metabolic Rate.

This will give you a pretty good idea of a basic range.

If you need more details just let me know.

wow, nice read
