body composition question

why is it that some people look smaller at similar weights and heights? i weigh 235 with abs showing at 6'1. there are others of similar height, weight and BF that look alot thicker than me. it pisses me off. i guess i will have to be 245 with abs in order to have the thickness i desire.

must be genetics my dad is 5'9 240 and looks like he weights 200. Oh and my legs are only 26 inch (quads) calves 18 inch.
