Bodybuilding Expense

Holy crap! The gas prices keep rising and so do many of the board sponsors prices. Where and when does it end?

Its not so bad. People used to have to get in their car to go buy gear.

HA! I always wondered what is was like in the 80's. In my mind the 80's bodybuilder drives a red t-top camaro with guns n roses blasting from the tape deck. He is dressed in a bright purple Golds Gym tank top with tight black spandex shorts, has quite a bit of hair on his chest, and wears a gold chain around his neck. His haircut says business in the front and party in the back. He keeps a rather large amount of cash in his jet black, leather fanny pack. His business deals are always done at a broke down gym on the wrong side of town.

I have to much free time today.

Pretty close! Ahhhh, the (don't worry, be happy) 80's. I did wear the Gold's Gym tank, but I was never a fan of the spandex. I wore the baggy Crazee Wear pants. I hit the gym in my Jeep with the top down. I would pull up to the gym, the windows were all open, and you could hear the clang of the steel weights with AC/DC blasting on the stereo (what's an iPod?). Business was done behind the gym in the parking lot. Happy times.... (sniff)

some of my friends siad they have made simple adjustments like NO FAST FOOD or COFFEE SHOPS for overpriced coffee and food thats bad anyway.

I got on better for the 80's, there was a doctor in town, who like the extra income from BB's. There was always a line around the block!

can you give us any 80's imagery like..... before leaving for the doctors had you just finished playing pacman on your atari 2600? did you drive a black t-top firebird and was duran duran playing through your 6 x 9 pioneer speakers? were you dressed in neon and was there a sweat band around your forehead? was a bandana tied around one leg of your ripped stone washed jeans and were you wearing penny loafers? i bet the denim jacket really made the jeans "pop". did you complement your feathered hair with a rat-tail? Theres a guy in my town whos still like this.... curly mullet, gold chain, hairy chest, wears a bright yellow golds string tank top and purple sweat pants (the ones that have little crazy designs on them, and work boots to the gym. He also has the leather fanny pack, its amazing, I was laughing reading this whole thing.

I think there's a few of those in every gym. Where I lift we even have a dude who's gotta be over 60, not in good shape but clearly a longtime lifter, who always wears a string tank that says Team Italy Bodybuilding, bright colored parachute pants, and some LA Gear hi-tops (no joke).

bike/run to the gym, get a Cost Co. membership, avoid bars, and sell old crap on ebay. first three saved me a bunch of dough, last one...well theres always some moron somewhere that will buy your old crap. seriously, people will buy anything.
