Buried a friend this a.m......

The most loyal and faithful of all, our 10 year old Golden Retriever, Hannah. Just had her in the Vet last week for a check up/blood work because she was acting funny. "Everything is fine" they said. Last night she was panting heavily and breathing funny. I got up around 2:00 a.m. to stroke her head a bit...got her some water and gave her a few kisses. This morning around 5:00 I got up to check on her and she was gone. Excuse my language, but this Fucking Sucks! I feel like someone ripped my guts clean out of me. Was planning a big surprise 16th B-Day Party for my son this weekend too... kind of puts a damper on things!

Aw Sam, I'm extremely sorry to hear that. She was a beautiful baby. I'm sure she would want the best for your son this weekend. I know it's going to be hard, but knowing that she didn't snap at you when you woke up at 2AM is a good inclination that she was not in much pain. Hopefully she went easy. You might want to take a lock of her fur and frame it with a picture in rememberance and in time you will get past this, but of course you will never forget. All the strength to you and your family.

Thats terrable man. I HATE stuff like that...Im a softy when it comes to animals. You have to remember though at 10yrs thats 70 in dog years
So Id say shed had a great life with good people taking care of her .Im sorry to here shes gone though....They get to be part of the Family after a while.

sorry to hear bro, its always tought losing a great pet... i have never cried harder than when my childhood dog died, it was like a brother or sister to my family, i still miss that dog, but am just glad i was able to have her for 8 years.

God Sam..........I am so sorry .......I miss my three babies everyday . I am so so sorry ..........Not a day goes by with out those dogs running through my thoughts ....That was a beautiful animal . I too had to carry my family dog out of the house this past summer...

WE had had her for 14 years...and my father called me at work at 5am to say she was not doing so well. SHe was not eating treats or drinking water...so I got off of work at 7am and went home to sleep for 2 hours so I could get up and be with her all day before she went into the vet.

I got over there and my father said she had passed...weird this is I had a dream that she had passed away right when she was passing...CRAZY...you know I fucking cried my eyes out when I saw her lifeless body.

I feel your pain and I am the first to tell it really sucks ass.

Sorry to hear it. Pets are like children you know. When I went through a divorce my ex got our two dogs and I'm still sick over it. They were my good buddies. There's just something about coming home at the end of the day and seeing a smiling dog who's excited to see you that warms your heart. Very sad indeed.

I feel for you.

My dog Hutch died when I was 17....he was such a smart animal. He'd retrieve ducks....with no training. [Irish Wolf hound/ Aerdale cross...not a retriever] He just seemed to understand everything you told him. A good friend....

It crushed me when he died. I always see the beautiful dog pictures you guys post and I want one again....but, I remember Hutch and don't get it done.

This house is going to be a different place without her to welcome me home everyday. By the looks of things she went in her sleep and I am very thankful that she didn't suffer or have a long dragged out illness. She was just fetching balls and catching popcorn out of the air last night. We will all miss her dearly.
