so just an update on this… he called me back finally. i try to describe what is going on, how i am feeling, last time it was not like this at all with the injections. i was fine and ive been getting them for 10plus years for my back and hip etc…

i am trying to describe things to him and he just keeps cutting me off. try to ask something, cuts me off. so if… cuts me off…

then proceeds to tell me everything that i am experiencing is my fault. everything. well
ok like kinda i mean i guess tried to describe some more things to him, cuts me off and says well then maybe you have a brain tumor.

i almost dropped the phone. i said yeah know what, cancel my appointment next week and get rid of my files, i dont want anything to do with your practice anymore.

You do realize he's not your shrink? All you needed to say was 'I'm in a lot of pain right now, shoulder is doing wacky things, would like to get imaging asap, thx'

Not sure what your looking for from this board since you have not done any type of imaging.

If imaging was executed and you share your results, then perhaps some clever minds here can share their thoughts.

You need a new doctor.

I myself have a facked up shoulder, full thickness tear, labrum tear + large calcification ect...I only know this because my doctor asked for MRI, who then recommended me to ortho surgeon.

It's not rocket science.

Noises don’t always mean shit. And whoever you saw about this is a fool. Where’s the mri? You can’t possibly know exactly what’s wrong until you do imaging. And if you have a partial tear you go injecting corticosteroids anti inflammatory drugs that further destroy joint integrity your fucking yourself. And I don’t care what any of these guys say if that injury is significant and you have ruptures those two peptides won’t do shit for you. You need to seek professional help. All the advice in the world won’t fix a substantial injury.iv had over a dozen successful full joint reconstructions and litterally years and years of rehab I have a good idea what im talking about here. Help yourself. Do the right thing. No cheap shortcuts for major injuries that require surgery.

yeah.. stay away from Gabapentin... that stuff turns your brain to mush among other things.
Most docs just skimmed the pamphlet on these drugs once 10 years ago and figure all their patients are overeacting peasants despite never taking the things they prescribe themselves.
In the VA system a lot of people are prescribed gabapentin, in my opinion to shut them up and cook their brain until they dont care anymore.
as others said, if they arent doing imaging then they dont take you seriously and thats just plain disrespectful

bet you if one of his golf buddies had a twinge in his shoulder he wouldn't tell him to take gabapentin and STFU

Not a doctor, but work with them daily in orthopedics (I work in medtech). Anyway, something just sounds off. I'd just make an appt with an orthopedic physician (preferably one that specializes in shoulder) and go see someone fresh. Was this doctor and pa more of a the "general physician"/primary care type or is this an orthopedic office?

Correct. They have found more things after they cut me open nearly every time that was not seen on mris.

Agree with this. Can you get a referral to a shoulder specialist? From there a MRI or PT ideally both. Could be ac joint, labrum or slap tear. I had a small slap tear pt strengthened all the small muscles around the joint haven't had pain or had to change my training at all. If you opt for it I'd find one that works specially with athletes.

You can get a referral to an orthotic surgeon. I don’t know of any surgeons that only do shoulders.

so, as i mentioned before he was recommended to me by a pro bodybuilder in the area, his specialty is neuro, and hes got alot of other degrees in specialties i cant remember what they all were, but he started out as a neuro. but he does do ortho surgeries and procedures.

I would not want a Neurologist focusing on this, regardless of how many other board certifications they may have. I'd want an orthopedic surgeon who only specializes in shoulder, hips, knees, etc. You do you, but that's my .02. The best physicians are extremely specialized.

My wife just a total shoulder replacement at UCSF. All he does is shoulders. Also designed the parts. Smart guy to say the least. And a great surgeon. We see him this week for a final appointment.
