Nothing like a calf burn...try this:

seated calf raise:
20 reps, stretch for 5 secs w/out getting up
20 reps, stretch for 5 secs w/out getting up
20 reps. immediately get into catchers stance (make sure you hold onto something for balance) and roll up on you toes to failure.

Repeat again. Did this the other day and might as well took a bat across my calves.
 
I did something like this with my friend and it sent him to the hospital.. Rhabdomyolysis.

Just make sure you start off slow and work your way up to this. Always stretch and warm up - calves are wierd muscles.

that type of stretch training for calves is getting really popular. my trainer and a few pros and notionlevel comp. have been doing calves like this. it KILLS me everytime. this is how I have learned to do it from them
i first start off with either hecksquat toe raises, seated calf raise or standin calf raise. 3 sets of one of those exercises
then
Get on leg press machine doing toe extensions,
15 reps
20second stretch
15 reps
20second stretch
15 reps
20second stretch
(ALL THAT IS ONE SET)
:REST:

I usually only have to do 2 sets of those

That stretch really gets a hold of your facia! and hurst like HHEELL!! ever since doing these, my calves have grown about 2 inches so far...
 
I had a female trainer with HUGE calves who taught me the same type of thing. I work my calves hard but after doing her routine they were sore for about a week!
 
im going to have to start doing these ...doing reg. seated and standing calve raises just isnt enough for my calves ...
