Carbs in LBA's

Can someone explain to me please what the carbs are in LBA's? The label states 0 net carbs but it has 5g of sugar esters from glycerol.

Will this type of carb have any impact when I am following a low carb diet?

Currently mixing 300ml of egg whites with 5 tablespoons of LBA's for breakfast and before bed. Thats only 210 calories yet over 50 grams of protein per shake!

I had to hit him up cause I keep my carbs hella low all week but I still love me LBA's, so I get some of my carbs from glycerol.
 
No calorie carbs in LBAs..........dont count them

wow i didnt know they were no calorie carbs? I need to re-calculate how many cals im getting in..very interesting PHIL

"Glycerol and glycerin refer to the same substance. FDA nutrition labeling regulations require that when glycerin is used as a food ingredient, it must be included in the grams of total carbohydrate per serving declaration. Also, when the label of a food containing glycerin has a statement regarding sugars the glycerin content per serving must also be declared as sugar alcohol.

The bottom line is that several macronutrients and ingredients, including soluble fiber, sugar alcohols, alcohol, lactate, pyruvate and glycerol act like carbs and if they're not taken into consideration as being the equivalent to either full or partial carbs will sabotage the effects of low carb diets on weight and fat loss and body composition."
 
It has calories. But the amount in LBA's shouldn't be stressed for most people. I think that was what Phil might of been hinting - and also that you shouldn't count them as carbs.

It just has an extremely minimal effect on blood sugars and insulin compared to other sugars or even sugar alcohols. It has a different structure than most sugar alcohols.

Actually you body forms glycerol when it digests dietary lipids with lipase and bile salts. So the insulin/blood sugar effect would be within the range of fat's... which is minimal.

Also when looking up information about glycerol, make sure it has been written within the past few years (we know a lot more know than we did a few years ago about it) and from a knowledgeable source that isn't going on old data.

yeah i don't know how old this info is I do know he sent it to me just a few months ago

I never had any problems keeping my fat burning physiology using LBAs

Now or when I was competing? When I won the USA I ate LBAs, MCT oil, Broccoli, diet soda.......for 13 weeks

That mustve been really low carbs/day just on broccoli. I imagine when it comes show prep time you'll have me doing much the same eh...bring it on. Mind you if i eat any more brocolli i'll end up looking like a broccoli floret since i upped them to replace the beetroot ( cause of the IBS )!!! Either that or a fruit smoothie, lol!!!

I once heard that Phil is like Chuck Norris, in the fact that if he writes your workouts and diet you will gain 5 lbs. of muscle just by reading it. :eek:
