I know this sounds kind of goofy, but how do the female pros develop the cardiac capacity to fuel those massive quad muscles of theirs? Think about those muscles relative to the size of the woman, there's probably 40 lbs. of lean mass in their quads on a frame meant to weigh 110lb altogether. I know I feel like passing out after squats, my heart is pounding so hard its scary, and I'm bigger overall and with smaller quads than lots of those women. It seems cardiovascular capacity would limit the work they can do with their legs, and therefor the growth of those muscles. Obviously this is not the case in fact, but thinking about the proportionally huge amount of muscle mass there and the vast amount of additional vascularity that needs to be filled with oxygenated blood, that their heart has quite a task it wasn't designed to do.
