The opposite of a close grip bench for tri's ... anyone do a close grip barbell row specifically for bi's? Same movement plane opposite direction?

This is a good crossover exercise to do if training back and bi's. Your biceps are not the prime mover in a rowing movement, well as long as you are moving your elbows backwards. Your back is. As your scapulae contract it engages the muscles of the lats and middle back. Your bi's are not taking the full impact of the weight. Now body drag curls are much more effective for bi's than close grip rows.

A friend of mine has a local guy he trains with who he says was trained by a well known trainer and that he preaches the body drag curl.

Just curl up and the negative goes close to your body all the way down, repeat...
