deads - 550 x 6, 365 x 15

Deadlifting is difficult which is why you really never see anyone going after it like they do curls or something else along those lines.

I gotta give respect to those that train legs/back as hard as the other bodyparts. Come showtime, you will be able to tell who has been deadlifting and who has not.

My favorite movement for back...bar none. Good job Shelby.

I think I might set a goal of 585 x 8 and 405 x 15 by the end of this year.
 
Good deadlifting. No bouncing, each lift is a DEADlift. One question tho, why don't you wrap your thumbs around the bar? I use the same "false" grip when warming up sometimes on deads but I would find it a lot harder to not wrap them around when going for any high reps.

Just more comfortable I guess. I'm all about comfort :)

Thanks. Not sure what's next. I'm dieting now so lifts might not go as up as much as I'd like them to.
 
nice reps bro, strong. none of that hitching crap either. we all know reps aint easy with heavy weight. i'm sure you were seing them stars. nice job

nicely done! deads are such a basic, core exercise and many people dont do them. hopefully someone who doesnt do them will watch how EASY you make them look and try them out
 
your also a large 221 in my eyes. you look at least 235, which of course is good
 
Awesome lifts! So i take it the 550 was your main set and the 365 was a windowmaker? Also just curious what type of shoes do you pull in? I've got some olympic weightlifting shoes and i read an article by Mark Ripptoe about how they can even be beneficial in deadlift, more quad drive apparently.

They're adidas - black with red stripes.
kind of like sambas, but the sole is a bit thinner and the styling is slightly different.
i got 'em for 20 bucks at a discount store a few years ago.

I'm as equally impressed that you can hold that weight with a non-switched grip as I am that you pull like a mule.
