Does anyone still get these emails from Nigeria?

I have been getting random emails from Nigeria for years. I am wondering how this scam can even work anymore? Take a look at this one I just received

Transfer,Anti-Terrorist, Anti-Money Laundering Certificate, which enhance
immediate clearance of this bank draft at your bank in six hours upon
delivery.

We have written to you severally but unfortunately we didn't get a reply
from you maybe it was casued as a result of it got into your spam folder.
Inother for you not to loss our upcoming email from us,you must add our
email to your email address book or contact list so that you can have
emails delivered to your inbox mail folder. You should also ensure you
check your JUNK/SPAM mail filter regularly.

There is this Mr. Leonard Jefferson who came to our company last Month to
place your Bank Draft on out going delivery,he already paid for the
insurance fee and the delivery charges. But he did not pay for the
security keeping fee due to the fact that we did not know when you will be
contacting us via mail to inform us that we have your cheque, so we
advised him not to pay for the security keeping fee of the courier company
so far but we informed him to contact you on time so you will not have to
pay more than $165usd on demurrage and we do not deliver on COD ,The
charges cannot be Deducted from your bank draft.

All you will be needed to do right now is to have your cheque delivered to
your home and i will advice you to proceed and effect the payment for the
security keeping fee of $165USD only, you are to come up with this fee as
to process the delivery of your package.

I still get these once in a while. I usually only find them while checking my junk mail folder. Absolutely ridiculous. I think it's mostly the elderly that fall prey to these idiots, as they often don't understand how easy it is for somebody to try to rip them off.

I only get spam from pharmacies telling me too buy Viagra or Cialis. You think they are trying to tell me something? I asked my wife, but she denies giving them my email.

They have folks who actully engage these guys - called "lads" - they take on a variety of personas and they just string them along for months! some of the stories are hillarious. Especially the ones by "unkindly contributor'". Try it.

First time I got one of those E-mails... I nearly fell off my dinosaur! They are older than the internet itself. Any decent E-mail service should filter that garbage out and put it in your SPAM folder.

I think I actually have like $3,000.00 in checks laying around here somewhere. Some dude emailed me and even got my f**kn phone number a few years back. He called me and sent me these checks to cash. I was gonna cash the checks and pocket the money until I found out the checks were bogus. I could have watched some nice hardcore dvds with that. The dude called looking for the money and I forget what I told him but he stopped calling.

Right out of infantry training, the instructors told us VERY clearly about a scam down in Oceanside that happens EVERY weekend with farm fresh jarheads with a big fat wad of cash in their pockets.

They told us exactally what was going to happen, how we would be approached, etc,...he said that it happens all of the time.


Sure as SHIT, one dumbass guy comes back with his money having been scammed from him.

What I get about eod is a beautiful and touching letter from either Anoushka, Viktoria or Jelena, Russia, telling me in such a moving way how desperate they are, how life with their whole family in a 25 square meters is incredibly hard and austere... in a word how badly they need me to survive.

All of them are sincere, trustworthy, faithful, they clean the house, do the cooking... and like walking the park.

Only little problem... I don't have any park close to home...
