Snatch deads are wild - a humbling exercise for sureSnatch grip deads really are awesome. I do feel them big time in hams but man it crushed upper back. Thanks for whoever recommended those I totally forgot about them.
haha, yes we live in china so everything in kilos. I don't have any 100lb male friends.I hope to hell that those weights are in KGs
Currently have sciatica (i think), left leg is weak AF.About 8 months after herniating my disc doing deads, I was doing some light squats with 225lbs ,herniated the same disc again. It was bad both times. Right leg shrunk down and foot got totally numb.
Seems like herniated discs go hand in hand with DLs from reading the replies.
Another week, another record - pulled 575 x 8 today, an all-time PR. My right elbow is recovering from pretty severe tendinitis so I think not going all out heavy on chest and shoulder pressing is helping me make more progress on my pulling movements. And I'm happy to still have some lat veins in the 280s.

*Central nervous system has left the chat*Don't even want to post videos after watching @275bills but recorded this set yesterday. I’m having fun with deadlifts cause my kid is getting real strong. We’ve been training 8 months, last month he did 1 rep 405 and currently we’re adding 10 lbs every workout which is every 8 days for deadlifting. Currently doing 3 sets of 5 reps With 335lbs.
My glutes and hams made big strides even during a prep when I added a posterior leg day and did SLDL second to last. Full workout was typically
I’ve stopped doing heavy pulls right now, but for growing glutes on this day, they were productive.
- Lying leg curl: pyramid 20-15-12-10-8 final set double drop with partials
- Seated leg curl: pyramid to rest-pause set
- 45 deg. Back (glute) raise: work up to a big set against bands + holding a DB, usually double or triple drop ending with just body weight
- SLDL, “quiet” style (control eccentric enough to where the weight barely makes a sound) - top 6-10, backoff 8-12
- Hammer hip press: pyramid to 15-20 bilateral, then alternating 5x5 cluster unilateral
Here’s a video from 3.5 weeks out of last years nationals prep. DL variations are the one thing that feels better when this light and lean. Start position is perfect with a smaller midsection.
Beast modeOld „meat head” times - now I don’t fucking know how the heel I do this 4reps with 320kg
