How much potassium do you take

I seem to remember the number 10 grams wrt pre-workout potassium citrate on A's forum. I don't know how much of that is actual potassium without googling.

I think tomato juice is probably the highest potassium containing foodstuff. The doctor who examined Momo Benaziza hours before he died just recommended him to drink tomato juice. Milos thinks he died from too high levels of potassium because docs or paramedics don't consider the types of diuretics taken and don't test electrolytes before giving potassium. People are different though, my mom takes a potassium sparing diuretic but needs to take four 750mg potassium tabs a day.

yeah, thats where i got it from.
put into pre/intr shake.
for sure ive never take 10 at a time.
pretty sure was 5g serving.
ive seen it as a bp med with 3g i think.

Potassium and phosphorous are no good for kidney impaired folks. I had alkalosis + hypercalcemia and more when my kidneys failed. check out my Old thread

I don't understand alkalosis and your situation but that word made me think about something I read recently. That sodium bicarbonate could have a kidney protective effect, in theory. Bicarbonate is also an important electrolyte although you almost never see it in electrolyte drinks. About 4 grams can even increase recovery if you have another workout in the same day, not to mention the supposed preworkoutt benefits. Justin Harris recommended it preworkout mostly for the sodium (pump) and perhaps small performance benefits. That boxer, Logan Paul (or was it Jake?) or whatever his name is, I think was associated with an electrolyte drink brand called Prime. All it had was potassium for electrolytes, what a scam, and it was expensive too.

This looks like the most comprehensive electrolyte product I've seen

Is It possible you were dehydrated for the last round of tests?

BG will be elevated in most due to dehydration.

Ive supplemented high amounts of potassium before, this was situational based on my stack at the time. 3 to 6 gram range on top of my diet. I had more success pulling that back to 1 to 2 grams supplemented and adding 3 to 6 grams of supplemented sodium, doing so resolved my symptoms, blood pressure/bloat dropped and I felt great.

All that to say, are you sure your sodium is where it needs to be? Safer to tinker with sodium than potassium. Add too much potassium in absence of adequate sodium and you could just spin your wheels.

Just what I get through food. Should be plenty if your eating healthy

I also read ghaf about baking soda. Which I was taking a few times weekly when this happened to buffer uric acid levels in my urine and for g.i help . Because of my Gerd and worse conditions sporadically I have used baking soda on and off for years but good advice yes

Welcome back big dog

I add potassium chloride powder to my intra - around two grams which I think comes up as a 1g of potassium.
If im not mistaken then potassium is pushed out / excreted while using insulin.
Meaning - if you add insulin, you might also consider adding a bit(!) of potassium to your intra.

Im not completely sure about this - if someone more educated on slin could chime in? @bbextreme ?

Maybe I got it completely the opposite way, dont know.
But doing this means better pumps for me, less water retention.
No potassium excess accroding to bloodwork and im also on 40mg telmisartan - was worried about it being potassium sparing but in my case I stay in range. Might be different for someone else - i also do this only 4 times per week when I train.

Hello! Today check in with Luki went without any changes to the plan. My morning weight was 246,6lbs, a bit watery and less details but still pretty lean. It’s better with my back, it was a nerve irritation at the sacrum level of the spine. Nothing to worry about but painful AF 😅. Planning on finally hit some legs hard this week. Got some problems with post injection pain as I realized I’ve use a gear that gave me inflammation after every injection in the past due to finishing the proper one and yep, still make me sore AF 😂. Already waiting to receive the proper one. Other than that on the Sunday I’m gonna release podcast with Austin S. Then on the next week the John J. One about the waist 🫡 so be ready for it 🫡.

I personally use about 400-600mgs a day through a "no salt" alternative.
First thing in AM with my morning cocktail

I've been using light salt, it's about 3 to 2 potassium to sodium. So you're salting your food with straight potassium? I've been wanting to do that with some of my higher sodium meals, what do you use?

It’s literally called no salt

Sorry guys I was on my phone and been certain I am putting this post into my log... xD. If anyone can, please delete it ;p. @Big A

I'm back with more labs. Help me out guys. This is through my dr. I'm looking for assistance to assist my dr. Where i am at right now. Ive been ruling things out. I think ive ruled out metabolic alkalosis.

Seemingly a lot like pancreatitis caused by hypercalcemia caused by hyperthyroidism. My parathyroid gland is low normal but my calcium always high end and has been high. I had a few tums last weekend and tend to eat a decent amount of cheese. My whole last week was a mess and symptoms are consistent with hypercalcemia and pancreatitis. The pain is consistent with pancreatitis. I had oily/greasy pale stools consistent with pancreatitis. After not eating much for the last few days and completely avoiding calcium, I'm feeling much better.

My chloride is bottomed out again despite supplementing a heavy dose of potassium chloride. Something consistent with hypercalcemia when it's not caused by parathyroid issues.

I was also dehydrated for these tests as I hadn't really ate or drank much for a couple days prior. Had another one of those 20 hour sleep days. This no longer appears to be hormone related. My androgen levels just can't be high enough to cause issues.

I am not concerned about hematocrit, hemoglobin, or rbc, they were in range last time, similar test levels. Im just very dehydrated right now. These flair ups kill my thirst and sometimes is painful to even drink water.

Ive been getting so close. Had myself back in the gym a couple days but couldn't maintain. Another thing to add. With this flair up, when I eat, I become hypoglycemic or at least light headed. Feels much like hypoglycemia. Possibly just reaction to calcium since cheese is in most food i eat. These episodes screw up my mind too. From short intense bouts of depression/sometimes crying spells, to extreme, almost uncontrollable irritability. I feel pretty chill right now.

I've lost a decent amount of size and weight but with the lack of food, at 41, think I got that body most women crave! I gotta get this shit back and build off it.

Appreciate all the helps guys!
