I have an ear infection from swimming last week. I never go to the hospital, but yesterday the pain was unbearable, and I couldn't hear. The doc said that the swelling is so bad that if I waited another day, it would have ruptured my ear drum.
He gave me drops, ammoxicillin, motrin and percocet!
He said that whenever you go swimming, put some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and rub it in your ears. He said that you never get all the water out so doing this kills the bacteria in whatever is left in there.
This blows, and killed my weekend.
