This is suppose to be primarily a bodybuilding board where people can come and ask questions, share experiences, post pics, etc... without fear of being flamed - hence the name "Professional" Muscle.

There has been a LOT OF let's bash women bb'ers as of late and it won't be tolerated. OHHH - we're gonna limit your freedom of speech. No - - we just expect people to be courteous and use common sense.

So you posted a pic of your GF or wife in a thread and I think she's butt ugly. Do you think I'm gonna say that in this forum?!?!?! So it's OK to blast woman that may or may not be a member here (remember, very few people that visit this site actually post anything) so when any woman gets to see your "opinion" they'd rather not visit a place where a bunch of hypocrites get to gossip.

Yea - - I haven't been around much but don't be surprised when these type of posts vanish.

thank you xcel, this was just the point I was trying to make. I didn't see if there were any replies to the post after I said it, so I just let it go, but glad you're making the stance.

Thank you,
Rob

Well, wouldn't it also be hypocritical to criticize guys like Greg Valentino then? I mean, it's just another example of a person taking a sport we love to a ridiculous extreme. I don't think anyone here has anything against female bodybuilders, but we DO have something against men in bikinis. Just like most of us have nothing against the use of seo's, but when they are taken to a dangerous and freakish extreme, how can you NOT call it what it is....STUPID!!!

Honestly I think women don't post here because this is a pretty serious "Bodybuilding" and "Lifting" board with a ton of post on how many MG's to take or the best protocol for GH or best HIT routines etc. Most of the boards I have visited that have women posting also have alot more of a "Fitness" vibe to them. Guys wanting sixpacks and cutting carbs so they can look good on the beach. I think that atmosphere attracts women to those boards and they don't feel intimidated posting.

Agree 100%

I LOVE you gals. I want your opinions here! I love your opinions. I don't care if you look like Kate Moss or Nicole Bass... I don't care if you want to post that you just got married or have an unusual discharge. If you're here for fun, chat, fitness, health, you are TOTALLY welcome. Guys I don't care if you want to look like Brad Pitt or Ron Coleman, if you're here for the above reasons, I value your opinion too!

But if you show open hostility to someone because of their goals (being different from your own, etc.) it's just not going to be tolerated. Glad you're back xcel. Good job JWBH, I've been watching your posts and you are one helluva guy. Keep up the good work and maybe we mods can help guys like you BRING BACK THE WOMEN!!!

[edit] The board is called "Professional Muscle" - let's start acting like professionals

Where have you guys ever seen a real bodybuilding board with a decent population of women? Just curious. And what do the women have to offer us? Do we need them to tell us how to train, or what dosages to take? I kind of like a place I can go where I don't have to hear about female problems. There aren't many places like that left in the world. Really though, I don't see how anyone could be supportive of a chemical sex change. I'm not saying I won't follow the rule. I'll keep my posts to myself if a man in a thong with a pink umbrella and bow in it's hair is trying to look all sexy....but if that's what this board wants to attract, I think that's a good way to reduce the number of REAL males posting.

Why target women specifically? A guy came on here in provocative pictures (sticking his ass out) and you guys hung him from the rafters. What makes it ok for a woman to have the same type of pictures? Why the double standard? What type of board are you after? In my opinion, this should be a professional board with hard hitting science where everyone participates, not just a few and the rest sit back and reap the rewards and stick their as out now and then. Do you want a getbig type board? Do yo just want women members because they are female and satisfy the sexual urges? We should all be held to a high standard of professionalism. I cant remember one instance where someone came on here and was told that they were ugly. If that has hapened, can someone post a link to the thread? I am confused of the message of the thread. What has anyone specifically done wrong????

Exactly, Phil. I don't think any woman has ever been insulted personally. Sure, we've made fun of plenty of shemales who aren't members. And of course it's almost impossible not to make fun of gay guys sticking their ass out. But, if we have to be professional towards one group we'd have to be professional towards all groups. Political correctness at it's best. Never offend anyone in life and all will be ok.

Well ever think that female members might be offended by the umbrella insults regarding womens bodybuilding? All too common of a theme.

I also think that many women do not come on here because of all the disrespectful sexual comments and come ons that occour with every picture. Once a girl puts up a "hot" picture, the wolves come out. How can they take this place seriously? We have had PROFESSIONAL FEMALE BODYBUILDERS on here that left because it was not informative enough, just a bunch of sexually pent up guys telling her how hot she looked. I know this because I KNOW THESE WOMEN. They dont post their pics half naked or bending over sticking their ass out. These girls wanted to be treated respectfully. I invited 3 over here within the last 3 years and 2 got kicked off for being too forward and honest. The funny thing is is that they disguised themselves as men to not be bothered or stalked. One started her threads and experiences on GH and got banned and abused because a few guys selling fake GH got butt hurt and told him (her) that he (her) was a newbie and had no right to come on to this site voicing her opinion.

In answer to your first question, it isn't. But there IS a double standard. Why is there a restaurant called Hooters and not one called Schlongs? Personally, I think it's bad taste to post sexually provocative pictures in a bodybuilding forum anyway. Vander posted some pictures of himself and REA together and they were tastefully done. Kaiser posted some and I thought they were tasteful. Maybe that's the difference. Whether they're done with respect to the human form or whether done to be blatantly sexual and nothing else.

You guys and girls are the members here. Some longer than me. You make the board but what kind of board do you want to make? A sort of hardcore men's club? Or something where men and women BOTH can come and reap the benefits. I'd much rather it be the second. It certainly has nothing to do with sexual urges. Some of the posts I've seen by women on the board (especially in the counselling forum) are terrific. Men and women compliment each other but we are different for sure. Women have a certain sensitivity and sensibility that many men benefit from and men have a strength and straightforward opinion that women often appreciate. I'm not saying that men can't be sensitive and women can't be staightforward. I'm speaking generally.

If you want some examples of insulting remarks, sure have a look:
"Personally I couldn't find any thing that says that person = a She... I am scared and going to spend my days in the back of my closet... in the corner and hopefully that mentally disturbing picture gets erased from my naive/innocent mind..."
"PS: lost my appetite..."
"That had to have been a man at some point!"
"did i ever mention she looks like Yates in the 80's????"
"couldnt agree more man ! jesus , some of them look ridiculous !"
"When they are bloated in the off season, they look worse. They are at their zenith as far as looks go when they are on stage"
"what about there private parts YIKES its like mini me's dick "
"I wouldnt stick my penis in any of these women if someone paid me!!"
"GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!"
"I also don't wanna be giving her a licking and feel like I'm sucking a mini-frank"

Now honestly Phil. Cmon man. These came from long time members. How professional is this? Fact is, women see this stuff and they stay away. That's all I'm saying.

I see the remarks, but again....

Show me where someone has come on here, posted pictures, and were told that they were ugly?? Do you remember what members said about Greg Valentino? He was called an asshole, a tool, etc.....I cant remember the pics of the women BBers being called that. Again, show me where a member was called ugly after posting her pics, not general statements about someones physique that we do not know.

Anyone care to comment on this??

I really don't think we're scaring away any female bodybuilders. No one is forced to post pics. How can you be afraid someone will criticize your physique/face/clit if no one knows what you look like? If you do choose to post pics, then why should people not be allowed to voice their opinions? If I posted pics and someone told me I look like a retarded, shaved chimp...who gives a shit? That's the choice I made when I posted the pic. How freakin' boring will this place be if all we can say is "Looking good, nice quads" or worse, say nothing at all. Sometimes the "if you don't have anything nice to say" philosiphy doesn't work out. Look around and see which threads get the most posts. People like a little controversy. Like Phil said, I don't think any woman here has been directly insulted, if she has, I'd like to see a link too. If we can't make fun of non-members like the female bodybuilders who have been posted, I suppose we can't make fun of any other non-members either...like whiggers, transexuals, homos, drag queens, seo abusers, fat women, sluts, frat boys, people who put collars on smith machines, etc.

Maybe that specific thing hasn't ever occurred. Maybe no woman has posted a pic and got poor feedback. I don't know. I can tell you for a fact that I doubt any muscled woman would ever post pics on this forum and I can see why. I wasn't here for the Valentino thing so I can't relate. It sounds like what some of the members did was very wrong and those remarks should have been deleted. But I don't understand why that specific circumstance should be used as a justification for all the other general remarks to women bodybuilders and the sport. Ask yourself, do you want fitness women here or not? If you do, than you can't just allow these things to be said and expect women to come here. If you don't want women here than perhaps there should be a Men's Forum just like there is a women's forum? That way, men would have a place to go and horn up or slash women's sports to pieces.

Just a thought.

Is it just a numbers game we are after?

If a fitness woman can contribute to this site where we want to learn how to build a lot of quality muscle and get shredded for shows instead of just sticking her ass out then by all means please contribute.

I have a comment... I think a few morons believe that sexual comments like you're mentioning are actually flattery. Give me the names of any member "stalking" another member and as soon as I can confirm, I'll ban them myself!

Done.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

I used the calling someone ugly as an anology to what's happening. We lost another good contributing female bodybuilder - not to comment made about or to her - but the sport and people involved in general.

I can easily go through and say how many gals have been put down by this board - I have even caused one to leave. Don't believe me, just look at the Pro Muscle banner - several of them are on there!

It like going to a board going to a board for Hot Redheads and just making a casual comment about how "most" reheads are skanks in general - not about anyone specific. THIS IS A BODYBUILDING BOARD - WHY DO WE TREAT THOSE THAT ARE AT THE TOP OF THIS SPORT WITH SUCH DISDAIN! Now you may not like what they've attained or how they look, but yoiu DON'T always have to say what's on your mind.

During the middle of the Civil War (when the Union was losing) Grant had a great blunder at a battle (don't remember which one). Lincoln was very upset and sat down and wrote a very lengthy letter to General Grant, basically cussing him out. Then - he threw the letter away. This is the General that led the big turnaround in the future. Can you imagine what could've happened if Lincoln sent him this letter?!?!

If you read something that makes you mad or sets you off - go take it out on the weights, your dog, or hit your head against the wall but you DON'T always have to say what's on your mind - - if it's flaming in any way against what this board is about, it'll get deleted.

Now I know BBJ's first response here didn't sound like what he written. If a person were to just read the last sentence in that post it could be construed as SEO use is stupid (not Valentino).

I also think that many women do not come on here because of all the disrespectful sexual comments and come ons that occour with every picture. Yes I think this is true, but its true for every board. I am a member of many boards and this goes on, but alot of those girls stay. Usually they have their own forum and only women forum on that board and women are only allowed to post in it. If they decided to join in the threads outside that forum it appears to be at their risk. Alot of women on other boards I notice go along with disrespectful sexual comments because they are friends with another male member and kind of are joking with each other. I think this kind of sets and opens them up to other members that feel then they can make the same type of statements and then these women dont like it.

As for women joining this is a more hardcore board and my women is not a member and belongs to the more fitness oriented boards that have womens forums with general forums under them.
