Generation Kill

Anybody here read the book "Generation Kill" ? I know they made a mini series on HBO about it, but it's a great read.

I saw a special on the making of the series....pretty cool. They say that every character is based on a real person and every story is very close to actual events. They even have one of the actual marines portraying himself in the series.

I'm in the middle of reading the book now. It's a very good read. I'd suggest it to anyone that's interested in the current Iraq war.

Great book...I was in the Marines and its a part of me, so I read everything I can about the Marine Corps. It was a great read. Its a quick read too. The mini series follows it really closely. Its a no BS look at 1st recon in the Iraq war. It is life in the Marines. During the credits they play dialogue. During one of the weeks the dialogue was a few guys going back and forth calling eachother a bunch of racial slurs...I started laughing my ass off. It brought me right back to when I was enlisted, sitting around playing spades with everyone doing the exact same shit
