going beyond the pump???

so,is going well beyond the pump benificial to muscle growth.i'v started trainning with my brother and law and they do no joke 6 motions for 6 sets at 15-20 reps,by the end of the 4 motions my muscle of the day is flat like you blow up a ballon,ready to explode then just deflates. any input.it has spurted some new growth though!

I'd like to hear some responses by some of the trainers, but in my opinion, I don't think going beyond the pump is an "indicator" you are looking for during training.

I think getting a good pump is a result of proper nutrition and recovery and proper weight/reps to achieve the pump. In other words, as I'm starting to figure out how to train as a bodybuilder, I find I get a crazy solid pump by the end of my first working set and it stays with me the entire session and for about 15 minutes pwo. I'm also already "spent" in that muscle, way before the pump goes away.

I would use another "indicator" to tell you that you are getting all you can out of your training and when to stop vs. training until the pump is gone. If that makes sense.
