Going to Argentina. ?

I lived in the US and came back to Brazil.

And no, I wasn't living illegally nor was deported.

Southern Brazil is safer than East Boston or Revere, even Lowell. Miami too. I don't even lock my door where I live. Free health care too.

Yeah, I know Mass has Freecare, but it sucks.

Don't generalize. Folks desperate to live in the US are those born and raised in farms, mostly illiterate, who have a friend there doing things Americans don't want to. And yes, the pay for hard labor jobs is much higher.

Oh yea, very fair comparison. What about the rest of Brazil that's run by the gangs and street thugs lol? Even Chicago is safer. You compare an apple to an orange to make your failing point. I lock my doors and my guns are loaded.

Another failing point, just cuz from Brazil you have the illiterate trying to come here doesn't mean that is the case. Don't generalize, US colleges are full of students and professors from all over the World. People come here for the best education and the American dream. Many end up living it.

Have you been here? Where and when?

The vast majority of the country is fairly safe.

And I was the guy who started the thread about the dangers of Rio.

I mean, I'm a Brazilian who's lived in the US for several years. I can actually do a fair comparison. Can you?

Please quote the post where I say it's thriving... I was born and raised in South America, I know what goes on.

But the main reason isn't mediocrity.

Do you understand England's role in the war of triple alliance? No, you do not...

Do you know how many latin american presidents were murdered by the CIA? No, you do not.

Do you know how many TVs and radio stations in latin america were and are financed by the USA? No, you do not.

I'm not saying you're supposed to know, as I understand most people in the US don't care about what happens outside of their borders. But, please, don't talk about stuff you know nothing about.

It doesnt matter what England`s role was in triple alliance war.. It ended 150 years ago!!! If you wanna explain how that or any other European colonialism, or "US CIA assassinations" caused the country to default on its debt in 2002? Come on man, the country, and much of South America have major issues and cracks in public infrastructure. Put simply they have many major problems with basic services that the USA has not had to deal with in a long time.

Our history has a lot to do with how things are today. Or don't you understand that Paraguay could never recover from that war? And can't you see how the assassinations have influenced these countries? Seriously?

You can't simply say it's mediocrity.

What's happened in the US has a lot to do with WWI and WWII, which also happened long time ago.

I don't have a problem if you actually know the place, have lived here or even picked up a book on the subject. But pretending that you know something just because you watched a movie won't cut it.

The default by Argentine govt was devastating and historical. Thanks for explaining how 150 year old events made the the country default in 2002.

To those who immediately felt identified and jumped crying out of there ass due to my comments about south america, suck it up because is the truth. And I will say it again in case you didn't hear it right. Yes, south america is a complete disaster and the main reason is the shitty mentality of its people. Laziness, crime, ignorance, twisted values, etc. Let me give you a simple example of the typical south american idiosyncrasy. And of course a LOT of them think different, and many escape here to become Americans and we need those great people here. In America, if somebody breaks into my own house to rob me, I shoot him and make sure he is dead. The police file a report and case is over. One less junk fucktard out of the street. In south America, if I have a gun and kill a criminal inside my house that was going to rob me, I GO TO JAIL. First, because it was illegal for me to have a gun, and second because I assumed the person was going to rob me and assassinated him. Not only that, but the media and the proletariat praise the criminal as a victim all over the place while my face would be in every newspaper as an evil human. Try to deny this now, I have personally seen it. I have had Brazilian girlfriends and from other countries too so you don't come to me with cheap stories about how Americans are arrogant and shit. Those are just cheap excuses to justify mediocrity and shitty mentality.

I have a friend in Miami, she's a popular Venezuelan model. She recently went back to Venezuela on vacation to visit her family. She had to hire a group of bodyguards to be with them 24/7 because they are stalking her through social media all the time, looking at how much money she makes, waiting for her to go down there and kidnap her and her family for money. I mean WHAT A FUCK kind of country is that???? A country so rich like Venezuela a disaster so shitty that people have e to kidnap others to make a living?? where is the police? wheres the military?? does that sound like a "normal safe" country to you?? What about the assault and rape rate in the streets of Brazil?? what about those favelas where not even the police go to??? I know exactly whats going on down there.

South America has more resources than Central and North America combined. Yet, theyre a complete disaster and people by the millions are trying to move to the good 'ol US every year. And people down there keep electing over and over the same stupidity of socialism. Always believing in that shit of a government taking care of the people. Always believing in that stupidity of taking money from the rich and giving it to others. Always the same parasite mentality.

Im going now to my arrogant gym, walking with my iPhone on my hands and my gun in my pocket. And fuck yeah theres nothing better in the world like The United States of America.

Imagine y'all if the USA was a very poor third world country today with a marxist government. And if you asked every single average American, the answer would be this:

"well, we fought very hard for our independence in 1776, many people died, the atrocities that were committed by the British were unbelievable, but we won the war. As a consequence, we are still unable to recover, and we have thousands of pages proving all the sequence of events after the war that have made us impossible to recover. What the British did to us was an atrocity and its their fault that we live today in such poverty and suffering"

That right there gentlemen, is the South American mentality and logic.

Hahaha. See? You're completely clueless.

First of all, South America is not a country, it's part of a continent. Each country has its laws.

In Brazil you can kill an intruder any day of the week. You'll talk to police for a few minutes and that's about it.

And everyone with a good background can buy a gun to keep at home. Carrying a gun legally is a lot more complicated.

See? You talk about stuff you know nothing about.

Yes, Venezuela is going thru tough times right now, while Chile has been doing very well for a few decades.

I'll repeat: you don't have the slightest clue of what you're talking about.

I believe they are not legal there, did a little research and there is nothing conclusive, but Wiki and a few other sites say "illegal without a prescription."
Knowing a thing or two about Argentina, it is dangerous and still has govt corruption to this day.

Doubt they care much about you getting some gear. Be safe when you travel to a place like that........Brazil, Argentina, and the rest of South America are plagued by violence and poverty.

No never been because there has never been a reason to. You had a reason to leave and come here. I've known plenty who moved back to their homelands only to come back. Won't be surprised if you're back here ALLEX.

You conveniently left out those from war torn countries, and those who are persecuted due to their religion...another awfully high number of people.

Foreigners think Americans don't have a clue so they try to pull the wool over our eyes.....funny thing is they are all killing themselves to come here 😂

America will continue to be the best. Everyone complains but you don't see anybody running back to those broken corrupt countries.

Come on bro that kind of arrogant attitude is one of the reasons why Americans are hated so much. I've lived in a couple of other countries and tbh there are plenty of places that have a much higher quality of life than the US- Finland, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, Sweden etc by almost every statistic- life expectancy, GDP per capita, the crime rate, obesity, social mobilty, educational outcomes, healthcare, income equality. Hell you can even compare the benefits a French resident gets compared to the average person in the US.

And of course the US looks great compared to Latin America, those countries are small, poorly represented on world markets, have greedy self serving elites and are often exploited by large (US) corporations. This doesn't give us the right to 'brag that we're better' or claim that everyone is dying to get here. Latinos are as interested in coming here as they are in going to Spain, Canada, France or Italy.

Us Americans need to show a little humilty sometimes, it ain't all about us.

I like the US, have several friends and family there.

I know what goes on here. Brazil is fucked up in many many ways. More than Argentina in my opinion. But you can't simply put every country under the same label and find a reason why things are the way they are. Heck, we don't even speak the same language. It's not like US and Canada, two countries that share many things.

Brazil has nothing to do with Venezuela. It's so far away that we don't even talk about it.

Argentina is closer but very different as well.

It's pretty much like saying Europe is this or that way because of this reason and this is just ridiculous. And Europe is tiny compared to the South America.

Some comments here are simply ignorant and full of prejudice.

I didn't put every country under that label. The counties that were subject of the conversation are third world countries in comparison to the US. That's just the truth. I wasn't trying to be arrogant about it. I have children. I've thought about moving elsewhere and I just don't see it being any better anywhere else for me and my family.

You mean Refugees??
All countries are bound by the United Nations convention on human rights to accept refugees. They'll go anywhere its safe. This is nothing unique to the US....What point are you trying to make here?

My point was: Someone said earlier that those that are desperate to come here to the US are mainly illiterate farm something and I don't recall the rest, which everyone knows is completely untrue.
Yes, I've lived in other countries besides the US. Always came back. :headbang:

Ok I see what you meant, I agree its not always the case, there are plenty of rich Colombians, Venezualans and Chinese that love the idea of having a US passport. In general people from developing countries will always be attracted to richer countries weather its here or Germany or Canada or someplace else.

I could care less what the policies are in other countries I don't do anything risky lol.

So much for 420 million Hispanics... thanks for them...

Funny, it's not even Argentina we're talking about now, it's South America as a whole... as if you could substitute a Mexican professor of Mayan archeology to a Brazilian soccer player or a Chilean nurse... yeah, you must be right, those people are all the same, just lazy bastards willing to sell their soul to cross the US border and live that wonderful American dream.

With such brilliant ability to generalize and perpetuate stereotypes, it would be amusing to hear your cliche about blacks, Jews or gays... do yourself a favor, go ahead and make us all laugh... it's free and it lets off steam.

The saddest in all of this, is many share your views... :(

I've thought about moving elsewhere and I just don't see it being any better anywhere else for me and my family.

I understand. And there's the language barrier and everything else.

I have lived in the US and I've been to quite a few places in the world. There's more money circulating in the US and it's much less bureaucratic than most places to open a business or something like that. Infra-structure is very good too.

But speaking of society as a whole, there's no comparison between the US and countries like Sweden, Denmark or Netherlands. It's night and day.

There are three things that are very poorly managed in the US: health, access to higher education and worker's rights.

Hospitals and equipment are good, but doctors are a joke. They can't even diagnostic a simple parasite infection or other simple diseases. And it's all about drugs. Seen it plenty of times...

Most places offer free college to their citizens. It costs an arm and a leg in the US.

Most workers in civilized countries have a full month of paid vacation and many types of protections against employers. In the US, the employees got no rights whatsoever.

Oh, and I forgot to mention food. It's all nasty and processed, unless you grow your own stuff.

Still a great country and very rich and powerful, but how did it get its power? Killing, stealing, selling cocaine and opium to its own population, etc...

When was the last time the US wasn't at war? Can you answer that question without using Google? Since 1776, it's been at war 93% of the time.

Now you're gonna say it only responds to attacks of other countries because everyone else is envy of your democracy and your freedom. I know how it goes, have heard it all...

You're all over the middle east because those guys are evil and you're the police of the world, right? You're the jedis fighting the empire. Hahaha, cracks me up every time.
