Hair Grafts

Hey Bros,

My buddy was not blessed with the greatest genetics for hair. His coif is not the great mane like mine. He is losing some with the use of anabolics. If he were to get a hair graft and continued to use anabolics would the 'NEW" hair recede or would his original hair around the graft recede.

I told him if the "NEW" hair would recede as well, there is no point.

I would think it would effect the new hair as well eventually. I say, buzz it all off and enjoy BBing

No it will not affect the new grafts that are placed in the scalp. grafts taken from the back of the head do not have the same dht ( I think thats what its called) gene as your hair on the sides and top/ front of your head. I haved numerous procedures over the past years and none of my new grafts have ever fallen out..... but my old hair now thats a different story. LOL

Indeed, the new hair will not fall out. He should just have a consultation. It will be free. There are other issues such as how much original hair he'll lose over his lifetime, how dense the permanent areas are, are his expectations realistic, etc.

Without going into detail as to how...I can usually spot a job from 20 paces and I will tell you there are many BBers, actors, models etc. who have them. If you don't know exactly what to look for, you'd never be able to tell, though.

Oh I agree, there is NO WAY That all these 40 or 50 something actors have full heads of hair. I mean full. Not even a slight recede at all.

if he gets a graft, that hair will not fall out, there is a "donor dominance".

No I am from the US. Do you know of the best in the US? Maybe I am actually better off getting it done in CA as it could be cheaper due to currency exchange. Any thoughts about a US doc?
