Hamstring thickness, advice?

whats the best exercise or work out for hammie thickness, its my worst bodypart

i only ever do machine curls, lying, sitting and standing

should i be doing stiff legged deadlift?

do you need to go heavy, it looks a killer on the lower back

here is a vid and found on youtube, looks way to heavy or is this right, heavy ass weight low reps?

yeah i read it a while back, i tried the hanging dumbell leg curls things, but the pull-up bar was to low and the dumbell kept hitting the floor, the celling in very low in my gym.
 
mountaindog legs has worked great for me... and hams have always been my HARDEST bodypart

train them first, train them with a lot of volume and intensity

use both contracting movements, (Curls, lying, seated, standing)
as well as stretch movements (Stiff leg deads w dumbells, and barbell)

vary the reps, anywhere from 6-20+

I start with a contracting movement, for 5-6 sets,

then I squat or leg press (5-6 Sets),

then I do my stretch movement for 3-4 sets

then I do some more quad exercises (1-2 exercises 3-4 Sets)

this protocol has worked very well for me since i started about 4 months ago, already see a big difference I cant wait till ive had another 6-12 months of this ham training
 
SLDL are great. Try some ham falls also, those are killer. Just doing various leg curls is not enough by any means.
 
Yeah, machine curls alone aint gonna get it done... a personal favourite of mine is leg press.... feet as high as you can get them on the platform, medium stance, push through the heels and come down as far as you can... none of that 1/4 rep bullshit. Will hit your glutes pretty good too.

will put more MASS on your hams then anything you will EVER DO!!!!!

but do your own thing i guess, and then do your friends thing...
and then do what this pro says or that pro says.....THENNNNNNN.......
after youve done everything you can and are old and can barely get out of
bed........

then do what i said, and have thick hams

just sayin

Anyone do the Charles Glass excercise where you turn backwards on the hacksquat?

Yeah I loved it. I started getting decent results with my improved leg routine then my gym had a fire. I miss my old gym. Been ages... shouldn't be too long though until it opens again and I will make full use of the hack squat and about 20 other pieces of equipment:)

tenny, i never know when to do normal deads, with back workout or leg workout?

iv just done it with back anyway, 3 sets 200lb-20reps, 310lb-15reps(grip went) 200lb-20reps

an all do stiff-legged on friday or somthing, with a few curls
 
On week 3 of JM's program...RDL's w/ chains were a great twist. Smoked my glutes as well
