In my 50's now and my metabolism has absolutely crashed, or something else that I can not figure out. When I was younger I used to compete in bodybuilding so I know my way around dieting pretty well, Last year on 2500/cals a day I dropped ZERO lbs in 5 months, felt like I was banging my head against the wall and was using some of my previous diets that have ALWAYS worked in the past. This year I decided to get aggressive with it and start my spring diet at 2100 calories, well after my weigh in this morning, zero lbs lost from the scale and this is the third week in a row. Testosterone levels have been checked and HRT doc has me at the high side of normal (400'ish free test, 1000 total test)...so it's not that. The 2100 calories are 200g of protein and the rest are a mix of healthy fats and healthy carbs (all weighed on a food scale). Not sure if it is related but my sex drive has been gone for almost a year also and the ability to keep a erection longer than a few minutes. Obviously doing cardio and weights also (45min cardio 5x week, normal bodybuilding workouts).
Have read a lot up on the NAD+...maybe this would help? Any other supplement suggestions or hormone related suggestions, I am all ears. As far as my physique goes, not "that far" out of shape.... 6'2 @ 260lbs and with the right light my abs are still kind of there (not concerned with precise body fat levels anymore). since I stopped competing, like clockwork, I would drop to 245'ish lbs for summer every year just to maintain a good summer physique ....last year and this year, my body is saying NO.
*side note, t3 and t4 was checked by doctor also....low normal, but normal.
