Health Club membership question

I posted this on another board but i wanted to get a few new reponses. I had been getting the run-a-round from my previous gym renewing the deal i had with them. Got fed up and went to the new gym up the road. They had a special through my job for a 1 year deal. When i looked at the contract the guy had the start date of 11/27/07 and expires 11/27/09. i signed it,he signed it and i paid in full. If the gym catches the error can they make a claim? I'm not telling them jack..

So it sounds like you gained a year for free. If they ever ask you about it insist you & the sales person agreed to a two year deal. It's in writing you win.

Did you pay for two years at the special price? Or pay for 1 yaer at the special price but got 2 instead? If you payed for 2 & got the special price for both cool. But if you payed for one & got a special price but they accidently gave you 2 years I would go & tell the owner or manager about the mistake. I would ask him if he will let me pay the special price for the 2 yrs. I know this is not what you wanted to here but it is the right thing to do . But if you do not do anything you will never get in trouble for there mistake, just say you didn't notice it either.

you may have paid that first year in full, but u have a second year under contract. Im pretty sure that in MA that it is illegal to be held to a contract throught a club. you sign it, they sign it but it doesnt mean shit. you dont have to be stuck.

They put 2 years down instead of 1. I thought about doing "the right thing" too, on my part money has already changed hands, to cancel i have to put in writing the request,received by them in 3 days?, impossible..Ask for a refund where i only get 90% back? again i have to do that in writing.
