Help Making a Shadow Box

Okay guys I just happen to get a few really Badass autographed baseballs and I wanted to put it in one of those shadow box things like this

I brought a baseball to my local hobby lobby and they said they could do the matting and stuff but didnt have a regular frame or shadow box frame or whatever deep enough to put it in. So I looked on ebay and those sum bitches are NOT cheap. Anyone have any ideas or into that kinda stuff that could gimme some tips.

I just took a look at the pic, if you look closely, the ball is on a shelf with a concave glass holder. You would need something that would hold it into place, like a hub. I'm actually staring at just the thing.

My wife gave me a crystal globe paperweight, and it has the perfect type of bottom, it should'nt be too hard to find one. If you want I can get a pic of it and I will PM it to you tomorrow, just remind me, I'm a bit tired.

But If I had to do it, I would get a frame as close to the size that I could find maybe at a camera place, walgreens etc. Then if it's not big enough you can build a frame behind it. You then make a small shelf with a hub. Pick your back ground, etc. It doesn't seem complicated at all.

Yea bro that would be great! Im not too great of a "builder" when it comes to this stuff..but id really like to make a nice one to save some money. And the ball is worth alot I found out so figure I better do it right ya know haha

Show the guy your drawing / measurements . Tip the guy a few bucks so he does a precise job. Then glue / nail it together. Then cover the wood with a fabric , get some spray adhesive to install the fabric and screw the frame /glass on.

The wood should be less than $20 because its small , the cuts and tip $10-20. The frame from walmart ? $10? Fabric 5-10 , glue $5 . I would figure 50-70 could be more or less.

hahaha one is actually barry bonds lol...and another is a ball from the 06 world series signed by albert pujols..derek jeter ball from the all star game he won mvp...

Pretty cool stuff.
Hopefully the shadow box idea looks cool
