Hey guys, I am looking to pick up a home blood pressure monitor, but I really want to get one that gives accurate readings. I know the ones at the grocery stores and walmart won't fit my arm in even and I have read on here you need a special cuff when you are getting in the 18"+ range. Any suggestions on a good model to purchase?

im about 18 flexed and omron one from local pharmacy fits ok...or if worried about arm size i have an omron wrist one also..they are both spot on

If youre serious about getting a good reading then you need to learn how to do it manually like the nurses and docs do. Its easy to learn, really. Just buy a stethoscope and a sphygnometer. I wrote on here once how to do it. You can do a search on the net im sure and it will describe the procedure. Anyone can do it.

They make large sphygnometer cuffs. I bought one.

You can order one through a medical supply store but get an old pump up ( Aneroid ) version with a thigh size cuff. like the second one down in this link pic: Sphygmomanometer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
