The same thing has been said of many of the changes men's bodybuilding has gone through over the years.

In the late 70's people were saying Frank Zane was too cut. In the 80's, Haney was too big (same for Dorian in the 90's) - the list goes on and on.

In women's bodybuilding, that lispy swish Ben Weider wouldn't let Bev
Francis win becaue he thought it was imperative to "protect our girls," and "protect our sport."

Women's bodybuilding has always had a split personality - no one could decide if they wanted women bodybuilders, with muscle, like ANY bodybuilder, or whether it wanted them to be more "feminine," whatever that means. So now you've got "figure," a beauty pagent relic from the past, where the only thing missing is the evening gowns, and statements from competitors about wishing for world peace.

Personally, I don't mind a women having that much mass, as long as they are still pretty in the face. Problem with women bodybuilders is the low bf and gear makes there faces look too manly, and it is a complete turn-off. It's a catch-22 for women bodybuilders. Can't be pretty and massive at the same time.

Are men on stage suppose to be their to turn women on? This is where sexualityneeds to be seperated from BBing and women. Men do not get judges on how "sexy" or how masculine they are on stage. Why should a women get jugded on how feminine she is? If people wan sexy and feminine then go watch the pagents or the figure division. BBing is not about how sexy and how hot a person is, its about muscle, conditioning, and proportion/aesthetics. Wish women could have the same fair treatment as men get.

I think its our societys judgments in general that shape our belief on women athletes. Women are noted and judged on their beauty, like it or not. Men are seen for money and power and judged for being providers. Rich men-pretty women. Thats the way the world turns. This is IMO why women will always be judged on beauty-especially when its their looks (physique) that is being displayed. Then you get into gender bending, women taking male hormones and overriding their natural feminity to turn into a man via sex hormones. Done very carefully and slightly, this can be done without losing a womans gender. Overdo it as in the picture, and oh well you have a freak of scientific chemistry. I do however respect the sacrifice and dedication to training and diet that it takes to become a 'freaky' woman. And its her body to do as she wishes with. But she must take into account that the average Joe and Jane will be disguisted by that kind of appreance, make comments, etc...Even many BBers will say thats going to far. I love muscle on women, but go over the line and its not appealing. Come on, you guys who have seen the freaks at the big shows in the crowds attending the events-that looks horrible! Now, most of those figure girls, the epitome of female beauty IMO. Beauty and strength!

do u frown upon mens figure skating, I mean those guys are pretty femmy, long hair, makeup, skinny, very feminine movements, I mean do u judge them too, should they get a sex change? Here once again u have to seperate BBing from what u want as a partner or a sexual partner. I can agree from the standpoint of looking at her as a partner that I am not attracted to her in that format, but this is where society is unfair to women. They get judged sexually and on gender norms before they get judged as an athlete. BUt once again numerous males are a walking pharmacy that will or do have health concerns but that doesnt seem to be looked down upon as much. BBing is a freak show its taboo, is not suppose to be a norm otherwise their would be a heck of alot more BBers out their then what are now. Men get gyno, is that disgusting? That is female breast tissue on a man. Yes these women have androgenic changes from drug uses, but as far as sex changes I dont know about that. All I am stating is that all the time women are unfairly judged spec in BBing cause their sexuality, and gender role is judged before they are judged as a BBer, men dont get that treatment, why should they. What about women's powerlifting, some women lift more weight then a lot of men, should they get a sex change too because they can do that? too each their own, I think, if I remember correctly like 1-3% of our population is born as both sexes, and the parent has to decide what sex their child should be. If u want to change your gender and sex thats your business who am I to tell u that u r wrong. Men change to women and vice versa, it happens. I dont think women go through a sex change to do BBing, and as far as them destroying the activity of BBing how are they any worse then men and what they do hormonally to themselves. The "sport" suffers from both sexes. But if one does not want to see a "freak show" then why be interested in BBing?

Well, first off, I do disagree with men's figureskating. That's gender confusion as far as I'm concerned. To me, women's bodybuilding, when taken to the extreme that this horse faced freak above has taken it to, is no different than a DRAG beauty pageant. Men do everything possible to make themselves look as feminine and beautiful as possible. Then they prance around on stage trying to be the prettiest man-girl. With women's bodybuilding, if they are encouraged to look like the thing above, it would be the same thing, except opposite. Women would be doing everything possible to look as manly as they could so that they could be the ultimate shemale. For a man to take male hormones is much different than a woman taking male hormones. We're supposed to look like men, they aren't.

You mention skaters, they have fem qualities but not whatsoever have they undergone physical gender changing internally/externally-its all cosmetic. You say skaters 'SHOULD they get a sex change'-well they have NOT in any manner, but except for the vagina (and I guarantee her clitoris has become penis-like) she ALREADY HAS undergone a sex change. BBing men who get gyno try to AVOID that condition; in the womans case the sex change is something she is accepting as a side effect of the hormones she is taking-otherwise shed be using clen and mild doses of anavar trying to get muscular but remain feminine. Obviously she has decided to throw all caution to the wind in order to achieve her gender bending muscular condition. Again I appreciate the dedication to training that helped achieve the condition, but we are no longer talking about a woman here.
And as you know, no denying it, this type of women is what is burying female BBing.

dont take offense cause I am not trying to create an argument or offend. So IYO their should be a clean clear line of gender seperation. Women should only be allowed to play sports like tennis, swimming, softball, and gymnastics. Yet be not allowed to participate in football, rugby and other "masculine" sports that involve muscle, power, and force? And likewise men should not be in gymnastics and figure skating cus those are considered "feminine" sports? What is your opinion on metrosexuals? that some women have pushed things beyond healthy means, but so have the men. I am not stating that I agree with the trend and it is healthy. But to deny that men havent gone the same route is ludacris. Yes they may experience body hair, harder skin, clitoris hypertophy, and a deepened voice but sex change? I dont think they are changin their gentials to be men. I once saw a women at a BBing contest who was in phenominal shape and muscularity. She should have won her weight class and the overall but I saw her get screwed because she was too conditioned, and too muscular. This is unfair IMO, I think to be fair if u want women to tone it down then so should the males. As for the skater they may not be taking hormones but they do have feminine traits that are not "normally" attributed to males in sport. My overall point is fairness. If women get judged in 3 different ways then so should men. I just hope we as a society can accept that women can be powerful and muscular too. The only thing that seperates us is our biological and socail constructed differences.
