How fast does insulin sensitivity increase?

I've read a lot lately about how low carb diets increase insulting sensitivity an how you can jump on a high carb high calorie diet after and it will turn I to muscle very efficiently.

My question is how long do you have to diet to get to this level of sensitivity. And how long of a window do you have before sensitivity drops?
 
It really depends on how high your bodyfat is, and how active you are.

If you're anywhere near normal male bodybuilder levels of bodyfat.. If you're trying to improve insulin sensitivity start with meals of <40-50g of carbs with good carb sources (no processed/straight sugars), no need to go much under 120-150g of carbs per day.

Make sure you're getting enough sleep.

If you're obese, more drastic measures will need to be taken such as keto, and fasting.

There's no hard and fast rule for timelines, it would depend on many factors. You could do glucose testing at home relatively easily with a home blood glucose meter to see how your own insulin sensitivity is doing. For example eat a shake with 50g whey & 50g waxy maize, measure your blood glucose every 5-15 minutes. Graph results. Repeat as necessary.

Has anyone tried to increase their insulin sensitivity and actually been successful in a decent period of time?
