How long off gym before blood test?

Just wondering how long everyone actually takes off the gym before they get their bloodwork done.

Does anyone actually take 7 days off?
 
Personally, I don’t take any time off.

I just make sure to check GGT and Cystatin C
 
My training volume is pretty high - I have noticed higher than normal baseline AST/ALT but thats really about it.

Usually do my regular week then do an active recovery day on Friday then get a test done Saturday. Seems to give me the best results without any interference. AST/ALT, Creatine Kinase and sodium levels are only the things that really get wonky for me.
 
Usually zero days off. Taking test in my normal state seemed to be the smartest thing for most tests.
 
7 days? never heard of. usually what I do is 2 days/48h and also labs where I do they recommend that peroid. and I think is mainly bc CK, kindney reads. so also depends what kind of bloods you doing.

if the training is really heavy you should wait up to 2 weeks to allow the body to get rid of all the toxins related to the training and therefore be certain that the enzyme values in the blood are only those relating to the internal organs and not to the "waste" of muscles broken with training.

I never take time off besides maybe 24 hours before blood tests and my ast and alt always come back high even cruising and no orals. My recent ggt came back fine and I’ve been doing lots of 2x/days. Do you have any literature on ggt being altered by exercise?

Genuinely asking as this is only a recent marker I’ve started testing.

Hope your doing well mate - Did an ultra in 2020 (126 miles). Did bloods the day after and then again two days later. Levels went completely back to normal.
