i didnt see anything in particular on here that answered my questions maybe i missed it..

but anyways theres a competition april 19,20 that i want to compete in i turn 21 in may and the teen division is 20 year old cap so this is my last chance to get in this division

What all preping is involved i know 12 weeks out start cutting and getting my diet in check but until then do i just keep focusing on gaining and eating big?

I practice posing everytime after i workout for 20 minutes or so.

My other question is does everyone have to have a posing routine to do or how does that part work?

The competition is called Emerald Cup in bellevue,washington
 
You may want to make a call to the promoter - teen competitions I have seen have been 19 & under.
For your other questions: Oh where to begin?
I would contact/hire Phil Hernon, Alex A or !berserker here on the board. They specialize in contest prep.
 
Why not start getting lean now?

I wouldn't wait until 12 weeks out to start "cutting and getting my diet in check" I would start doing that now. Get as lean and conditioned as possible so any gains you make from that point are lean muscle gains. You also are getting used to eating and training for a contest, which to one's body is a traumatic event. If you have never done this before "eating big" as you say will only get you fat and further from where you need to be to compete. 12 weeks will not be enough time to figure things out and get you're diet in check. So to review here are you're points to ponder
1. Get you're diet and training planned so you can get lean.
2. Start executing you're diet and training
3. Get lean
4. When you stop getting lean restructure you're plan taking a thing or two away
5. Get leaner
6. Back to Step 4-5
7. Keep doing steps 4-5 until the contest.

Hi Creation,

First off, what are your stats? Ht. Wt. and goals? When I was a teen, My main focus was on gaining, since I made the transition from Boxing to Bodybuilding, my weight went from 119 to 165 in the matter of about 6 months. I was just as lean, (well almost) but it did seem as if everything that I gained was muscle. I was 18 when I started working out.

Anyway, without your stats it will be hard to help you out properly. Because your diet and training should be according to your current development, and that's where as Quad-Smack mentioned, hiring someone would help.

As far as the posing, every show is different. Hell, in the 80's the teen division was unbelievable! They had about 15-20 guys per class and went by weight class. AAU used height classes, or age groups like 13-17. 18 and 19 year olds had their own class.

Now since there is not as much interest it's age groups usually one class of 19 and under. As far as the posing routine, practicing is a good idea. Some shows allow a free posing others only let the finalists pose, but it's usually reserved for the evening part of the show.

It will usually tell you about this on the entry form, you should pick one up and call the promoter with any questions. In either event, good luck and keep us posted.
