Ok, so I pm'd Gavin about a few slin questions(very professional helpful person btw) and here was my main concern. When using humalog, you obviously don't want to injest fat within the time taken and around 5hrs later when its out of your system, but you never hear anyone talking about fat consumption before the insulin. Now, does anyone know how many hours it will take for the fat to pass, b/c it could still be in your system when you take your humalog shot and cause fat gain. For example if my breakfast is at 11am and I intake about 35g fat with that meal, then at 3pm I take my pwo humalog shot, would the fat be out of my system then? Or do I need to wait longer than 4hrs.
 
bro just to be safe if your worried about fat gain by it still being in your system when you take you pwo slin, just cut fat out the hole day on slin days. dite has to be on point exp on slin days
 
Fat may stay in the stomach for four hours or longer before moving on to the intestines. I would avoid fats pre-workout and and at least four hours after insulin administration IMHO.
 
Shit, if I avoid fat the whole day im gonna sacrafice muscle gains. Looks like if I eat breakfast at 11am, shoot slin at 3pm, then I cant have any fat till around 8pm which only leaves me 2meals in the whole day where I can have fat. Should I just have 50g fat with each of those meals? Think fat at 11am would still be in me when I take my humalog shot at 3pm?
 
Dont shoot slin everyday and on the days you do shoot it avoid fats. Has worked well for me

Plan on using it 3x per week. Maybe i'll just keep fat around 20grams for breakfast and then no fat the rest of the day till 5hrs after the humalog shot. But does anyone know when fat will be out of your system enough to take slin? B/c if its more than 5hrs, I may be better off just taking like 4tbsp of flax oil in the middle of the night, that way I can have a fat free breakfast and luch so when I shoot the slin i'll be ok.
 
I wouldnt worry too much about that...5 hours is a good window, its a fairly small amount, and you will be excercising in between to speed up the breakdown of the fats.
 
take some digestive enzymes with your breakfast, it'll speed up the fat breakdown

I would do some reading on the release times and the 1/2 life of humalog in the body. humalog is a quick acting slin and the 5 hour fat window is probably extreme.

Most are off base on the fact that eating fat with slin will make you fat, and then the overload on carbs and get fat anyway. IF you want to minimize fat gain with slin, use only post workout, and do 20-30 minutes of cardio after your weight training. Cardio decreases insulin sensitivity of adipocytes and increases slin sensitivity in muscle cells. This helps get the carbs to where you want them (skeletal muscle) and not stored as fat.

You don't need to use a shitload to get benefits(2-6 ius) will help most get desired effects. Most think they have to take 10 ius minimum, then end up consuming hundreds of grams of carbs and protein and wonder why they get fat. You can only store so much glucose as glycogen in your liver and skeletal muscle, after that excess BG will be stored as fat. So get a BG monitor and don't overeat to compensate. You can eat some fat just don't go crazy and start pounding big macs. PWO 10-20 grms of fat will not make much difference if you aren't eating to many carbs.

have a muscle milk in the am when u get up ...that has enough fat and will be digested in time
