yeah bitstamp verification process is quick(ish) but kraken took me 2+ months to get tier 3 verified so its useless unless you're adding exchanges for a particular longterm reason (arbitrage or new coin on a particular xchange).
It has only just begun man....we have the massive "implementation and adoption" phase starting in 2018 with some very very promising projects that should be technological disrupters for sure, in a much greater way than bitcoin ever was or could be.
1. crypto isn't designed to be invested in, that is a mistake, convert your money then spend it
2. localbitcoins has been the standard way to purchase crypto since the beginning and still is, everyone "in the know" (ie everyone NOT using the regular internet) has been using localbitcoins all along. Coinbase is known as the 'worst' outside of the regular internet.
it's unfortunate so many non-tech savvy people have been fooled into using coinbase
