Injection Site Issues

Has anyone ever had an injection site swell up and get warm.

3 days ago I wasn't watching what I was doing and went below where I normally inject. It was in the actual buttocks. Now it hurts like hell, is slightly to moderately swollen and is actually warm to the touch. What the heck have I done and has anyone else had an issue like this??? Any help is appreciated.

I don't know for sure, but i know "someone" who had that same issue. If you start running a fever you may need anti biotics. In the situation i experianced it went away within a couple of weeks with no meds, but there was no fever. In my opinion i think what happened was that the oil was injected to quickly, and spilled out of the muscle causing the irritation. If you feel the site i'm sure you will find that the actual muscle isn't swollen just the tissue closest to the surface. Hope this helps.

Thanks Man. this hurts like hell. I have never had this before and I have done this for a long time?!?!? I feel like an idiot!!

You're fine dude. You probably went through a vein or pricked a bone. As long as it doesn't get red, and start to puss out you're fine. Otherwise you have an abscess and will need it removed by a doctor. I would do hot compresses on it, maybe you're lucky and have a lady friend that can help you out..

This happens to me all the time with delt inj. It goes away after a couple of days though.

Keep an eye on it. If you get fever, chills, and redness and swelling increases, then you may want to get checked out.
