Matt porter rip looked ridiculous and ran tiny doses for a long time when competing although he was not ifbb pro it was impressiveIf I remember correctly you didn’t have to use crazy dosages either when you got your pro card?
Question- did you use more in your earlier years and less as your tissue maturity accumulated over time with age or did your dosage progressively increase as you pushed up in size?
People always say this, but I think people are most influenced by what the guy 20lbs bigger than them is doing.
I find it very hard to believe a 180lb kid would run 10 grams of gear simply because they heard its what Ronnie coleman did for 2002 olympia...
I see a lot of guys now run very low doses.
Gone are the days of 500mg test, its guys on their 3rd or 4th cycle, using 280mg test 190mg primo 115mg masteron 12.5mg anavar...
From what I've seen the "less is more" wave has really taken over.
Sure there are still the perma blasting tren influencer group that is always going to push things
but I see a lot of guys now taking gear just to take gear and seemingly just to categorize themselves as "ENHANCED" in their own head.
While IM NOT advocating for this, I’m genuinely convinced if you eat clean, stay relatively sober, do cardio and sleep is solid you can run some hefty cycles while not getting bloodwork and come out unscathed (this is assuming their are no hereditary conditions present)Just don’t be the bodybuilder who runs gear, eats crap, drinks, smokes and doesn’t do cardio. Have seen many of these guys over the years and their blood work. It’s not pretty.
Absolutely if you’re using the right supps and preventative items. While IM NOT advocating for this, I’m genuinely convinced if you eat clean, stay relatively sober, do cardio and sleep is solid you can run some hefty cycles while not getting bloodwork and come out unscathed (this is assuming their are no hereditary conditions present)
You're not really wrong. High blood pressure is the biggest issue and if that's controlled you can most likely get away with some abuse. While IM NOT advocating for this, I’m genuinely convinced if you eat clean, stay relatively sober, do cardio and sleep is solid you can run some hefty cycles while not getting bloodwork and come out unscathed (this is assuming their are no hereditary conditions present)
Justin Compton and the host of the show going over the somewhat infamous 14g and 56iu gh cycle of Heiko Kallbach and discussing the current theory of top pro cycles being 5g+

100% agree with everything you said. PM is one of the only places I’ve seen where people come on and say “hey something feels off…” and the first 2 questions I always see are 1) show the bloodwork and 2) what’s your BP. At my gym I know of a handful of guys who haven’t run bloods ever or even check BP and wonder why they feel awfulAbsolutely if you’re using the right supps and preventative items.
The only thing I disagree or wouldn’t gamble with better said is not getting bloodwork.
I think if someone wants to take on running gear that they should be prepared to run scheduled labs with it. Why would you not.
One thing I believe all these longevity and TRT clinics are doing right is selling packages that include scheduled blood work in which they use to base your TRT and health program off of.
Bodybuilders tend to do it backwards or just skip it all together unless they feel something off, which at that point you’ve missed the prevention step and are playing clean up.
It’s a tool we have easier access to than it is to get gear, is cheap yet many people put it as an afterthought.
It’s not just bodybuilders… it’s people in general. They want to wait until something feels off then go to the doctor, describe what feels off and get a solution (prescription) or diagnosis.100% agree with everything you said. Matt was my buddy, knew him for a very long time. Great guy!!! My boy left us WAY too soon! He did have a different approach of doing some things though.Matt porter rip looked ridiculous and ran tiny doses for a long time when competing although he was not ifbb pro it was impressive
My favorite quote in this context is "test, don't guess"It’s not just bodybuilders… it’s people in general. They want to wait until something feels off then go to the doctor, describe what feels off and get a solution (prescription) or diagnosis.
It’s almost become a programmed behavior, which it often times can lead to a misdiagnosis or missed markers that would allow for prevention.
Perfect example- 5 weeks out in my prep I started getting extremely fatigued and just felt off. Knowing my body and symptoms AJ and I both jumped to “tanked estrogen”. But I made the call to drive down to Quest and get some stat labs to double check my work.
Glad I did as what we thought was tanked E2 was actually elevated E2 with high prolactin which I have never had on any cycle.
Guessing confidently would have costed me getting dry, risked my fresh gyno surgery and messed up a good week or two of our final prep.
It’s always best to take the guesswork out even if you’re smart as hell and every symptom aligns.
This has forever made me afraid to use high HGH doses again. But the good news is the effects reversed once the high dose HGH was discontinuedInteresting about the HGH. Did he specify exactly why large doses are bad for the heart? I would imagine its the cardiomegaly.
What did the 20g pro look like? There’s a thread here about a pro that stayed with Big A that was using 20 grams of gear a week. Not too much of a stretch to believe there’s pros using 5 or 14 grams. Hell I’d be using more if I thought it would actually do something for me but unfortunately I was born to the wrong parents and lost the genetic lottery.
@luki7788 I see you laughed at this. I know the study design was small and another flaw is the steroid + AAS group used higher doses than the steroid only group, but the fact all four of them had the same deleterious effects still means something from a long term standpoint IMO, and I know Dante agrees. It is no smoking gun, but it's also nothing to laugh at either. This has forever made me afraid to use high HGH doses again. I laugh because I know many who have abused GH and steroids heavily for decades and it's really hard for me to find anyone among them who would be in worse health today than the average Joe at his age.@luki7788 I see you laughed at this. He didn’t stay with me lol. You’d have to ask Big A.What did the 20g pro look like?
fair enough. I still say blood pressure is king when it comes to cardiomyopathy.I laugh because I know many who have abused GH and steroids heavily for decades and it's really hard for me to find anyone among them who would be in worse health today than the average Joe at his age.
besides - we have to pay the price for being superhuman, nothing is free
Wait, can gyno come back after surgically removed?Guessing confidently would have costed me getting dry, risked my fresh gyno surgery
With years of having read echocardiograms, Justin Harris is very strong in his belief that if bodybuilders would control their blood pressure they'd avoid 90% of the health issues we hear about.fair enough. I still say blood pressure is king when it comes to cardiomyopathy.
