The base of our Java applet comes from a stable and reliable open source project: bouncycastle.org. The only downside of Countermail is that there is no free account option with reduced mailbox, such as the one Hushmail or safe-mail etc has, but if you are willing to pay for a premium anonymous encrypted email service I suppose it is alright. There all very similar...
