How low do your carbs have to be? and how long untill your in ketosis..? I have been for the past two weeks now on 40-50 grams of carbs every 5 days.... and carb load on the weekends.... not sure if I'm in ketosis or not! I really didn't experience a carb crash... maybe a slight dizzyness and hunger headache but nothing I can't control... got my bf% checked 14%240lb fucking high! I just hope I'm doing this right... this is just a test run for 8 weeks.... untill I drop my calories.. for precontest...:confused:
 
Get some keto sticks. What kind of carbs you taking in. Maybe you should hold off on the carb loads until you actually hit ketosis and know you are in ketosis. I don't know much about it, but I believe it's a headache trying to get there...too much of this, too much of that, or not enough this and it will kick you out.

Carbs come from greens/whole wheat bread... if any.. and small fraction from my protein shakes.... and maybe from protein bar if I get those bloody headaches....
 
It's a hassle bro, I would probably not even worry about getting into ketosis. If you decide to, I would drop the bread and bars...Aren't those a "no no" in contest prep? LOL! Also use the keto stick as soon as you wake up, it will give you a more accurate reading.

I guess so .. the whole wheat bread would be a single slice 12grms carbs... I ate once in the past two weeks... so I guess then I should have no carbs and see how long and tough it off for the week..... and see where I'm at! let me look at my carb index card and refine this alittle... I'm trying this stratrgy just to put me in shooting range for precontest.... i want to atleast ge to 10-12% in the next 8 weeks.... I am atleast eating 4,000 -4,500 cals a day... thanks for your input LilSaVaGe.... I keep doing what I'm doing ... I dropped at little over 5lbs in 2 weeks... feel like its water and fat.... I can barely squeeze in to my 34....... we'll see in the next 2 weeks....
 
you definatelly need to cut the carbs below 50 g a day....evry gram of carb counts. Protein shakes have 4 g per serving....if you drink 3 of thesee a day - thats 12 g already+ greens +bread it s probably way over 50g....you definately need to gety some good fats too, otherwise you'd start burning muscle. Swithc one day - just protein and a little greens, no fats, next day - protein, no greens, and 20-30g of good fats per meal, comming from nuts, peanut butter(nat), olive oil(virgin), or fatty fish - salmon......and then carb load on weekends.
Also Metformin can help you get faster into state of ketosis.
 
Yea if your taking in 40 to 50 grams your not close to ketosis. Look up Palumbos diet regimen here or google "bodyopus" by Dan Duchaine. To know if your in ketosis buy the keto stix.
 
um no, you are not in ketosis and nowhere near. you must diet to experience this effect. eating tons of calories and carbs 4000 plus? the sugar(bread and bars) will not allow you to since you will still be using the sugars for energy rather than fats. which is why people diet. to burn fat. lose 30lbs of the water and fat your carrying and then start dieting. eat lean meat and veggies. thats it. throw some good fats in there as well, and youll be all set.

Palumbo's diet for a 200lbs bb'er contains around 46grs of carbs.
 
Diet

Using this diet for two weeks
0500: 1 cup of coffee/60mcg clen split during the day walk for 30MN

0630: 6 whole eggs/6oz ground lean sirloin/ protein shake 4grams carbs
3/6/9 omega fat pills 3gms/aspirin/arginine

0900: 10oz chicken/ 2 cups of greens

12:00: cottage cheese/8oz talipia

1500: protein shake w/ flaxseed oil/arginine

1630: gym

1800: protein shake
1830: 10oz chicken/spinach/ 5eggwhites some times I add 4-6oz ground beef depending how hungry

2200: protein shake/5 whole eggs
If I get headaches 2-3 tbsp of natural pb

This weekend will be my first carbload I feel so flat no pumps...veins are visible but not bulging as usual....

I only ate one slice of wheat bread and protein bar during the two weeks// the bread was wheat and it was only 12gm carbs and the bar had no sugar but 22gms of carbs.....

I only eat when I'm hungry but sometimes I force feed because I feel weak and I don't want to loose any muscle..... I also drink almost a gallon of water a day... since I feel dehydrated all the time....

Question? since I eating high amount of fats can I have bake bacon or scramble my eggs would it make a difference how the fat is metabolize?

why are you on a bulking diet when you are trying to cut fat? sirloin? whole eggs? bacon? your far to small framed a guy to eat that many calories and expect fat loss. dont read and get your diet out of flex magazine anymore man. if you need help call me. i owe it to you for being a prick before my fight anyway. its no problem. im having a bbq at my house sunday. come over
