probably cause they're such a big muscle group. same thing with back.
 
Vander is correct. Think about it! you are training one half of your body mass in one session. Any other time we train much smaller muscle groups. Your legs not only involve legs but almost all of the other muscle structures of the body. When you train them properly it will produce large amounts of lactic acid. It usually gets delt with by the kidneys and liver any other time but when there is an overflow, like when you train legs it has no where to go but your gut. it will then trigger the vomit response from your system to void itself of this toxin, so you do.
 
Leg workouts, especially squats, are taxing on your system and most importantly, your heart. If you're going heavy, warm up with a 10 min jog on the treadmill to circulate oxygen and blood to the muscles. If you don't, you will feel light headed and/or nauseous as the blood is pumped north from the head and south to the legs.
 
i do the treadmill for about 8 to 10 mins. light jog or fast paced walking . helps get the blood moving.
 
also when your working out legs, NEVER lay flat on a bench when resting in between sets. Sitting is fine but if you lay flat then the blood will rush out of your legs easier to your whole body, then when you do your next set the blood will have to rush back down to your legs again. this can cause people to get dizzy, throw up, etc.
