Looking to get away...suggestions?

So far, all the advice, suggestions, critquie and comments has been great from everyone here.

As some of you are aware, I will be graduating on December 11. Before I start work full time, I would to find a place for my girlfriend and I to get away to for a few days. Money is a issue, so I would like to stay around the Southest US.....Georiga, SC, NC...but I am open to suggestions.

i got a trip for 2 to TULUM mexico for 8 days 7 nights everythign included food, booze, airfate, taxes for $1600. awesome resort too. look into it, mexico is a pretty cheap get away.

That's great area to escape to in the wintertime and easy to get to from Atlanta. Fly to Cancun and you are almost there. You can get a deal if you keep your eyes open but that's peak season late in December so book early. Flip side is while everyone is freezing their ass off with Santa Claus stateside, you are on a perfect sunny beach with a real Margarita in hand and its 85º

if you are a member of costco, check out some of the cancun packages, i can almost bet it be as cheap as southeast and much better time!

I would suggest something like Wilmington Beach in NC. Beautiful place with a very (almost hippy like) relaxing atmosphere.

Also, while looking into NC check out the areas for wineries within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm sure you could find a nice cabin within earshot of a winery that's both romantic and relaxing with breathtaking views.

Well you have the Outer Banks, NC or Myrtle Beach, SC... not necessarily the best in December, but pretty places nonetheless...

I know they have some Holiday stuff in the Outer Banks throughout december... check www.outerbanks.org for the calendar of events.

i went to new orleans for a few days last yr during nov. nice time to go not too hot but not cold. 70-75 degree temp. not crowded at all at this time, beautiful place, great food and cheap booze all along burbon st. Market place is great for shopping. I loved it there.

How about Savannah Ga.!!! Great place to visit--Stay at the Hyatt on the riverstreet!!

my wife and i are going on a cruise the week after thanksgiving, we live in florida where there are a number of ports to go out of

Her and I took a trip to Sevierville a couple years ago and she absolutley loved it! Although I spent want too much money (college student), or which seems to much money for me!..lol....we had a blast. She really loves taking walks in the mountains in the snow, seeing the widlife:deer, bears, birds, etc.

Do any of you have a cabin or anything you would be interested in letting us use for a few days?

We rented from some lodge in Sevierville, but we had situations with all the members there. I would like to find someone who has a their own cabin or house.

Head down to the Keys, but Key West is very touristy... Islamorada is a nice place...
